My position at 1616 is more of a trade in desperation but i will keep this thing open for a few months no S.l no T.P .

Iznt it similar to your strategy

I heavent opened any position longer than month.Average trade lenght is 1day

As long as people are using sl, I see no problem shorting gold.

I would be concerned with being short if gold shoots upward again and I didn't have a stop loss.

QE3 may not be inevitable, but I don't really think the USD can strengthen indefinitely against other currencies.

When the USD index turns downward, uncertainty remains, bond trading remains at the current levels (down from the spike post Operation Twist), gold will probably have a rally.

Is the gold bull market really done for? Time will tell ultimately, but I still think shorts are more risky than longs for the time being. Until we have a confirmed down trend, shorts are not for outsider OTC derivative traders like me.

Well first of all .I am a broker myself n we don't use meta trader we ave our own system which is pathetic thats why i use meta trader 4,5 forex.com software and trade interceptor for charts

Second this 1616 entry is for 6 months atleast as i see 2200 in these 6 months . this entry iznt big so there is no need for a stop loss and third we all agree gold is in a 12 year bull channel after that in a 3 year bull channel it hasn't broken any nor does it seems to.So its basically making an investment not a trade.

Lastly these gray lines are resistance and supports in this range.
I will keep trading the range dun worry

You have never held Gold over a week??

Tha't how you make the big $$ with less stress. Entry is important but not paramount like scalping.

1600 is getting stronger with every hit and non breach.

Risk is still off across the board it seems..

Interesting that Credit Suisse sees a gold recovery for the remainder of the year.

I tend to agree because I think the USD index will eventually fall again, but this volatility is tough to stomach.

They say the best time to jump on board (in investing) is when everyone else is scared off, but I'm not sure gold investing compares well the ideal strategy in a bearish stock market - finding value in the wreckage.

I'm also not sure the "devastation" of gold's spot price is apparent at these levels.

Any veterans have an opinion?
