Just a heads up to everyone that sometimes its beneficial to re install Mt4 fresh when encountering ANY EA or price feed funk... Surprised such is not recommended more often when technical glitches occur.

Light reading, indeed, as the article has nothing to do with the subject at hand (which is about broker stability, service and reliability).

I personally know the author of the quoted article and he says that the article speaks for itself. The last entry on the story was over a year ago (April,2009) and concerns a January 2008 criminal indictment of an apparent Canadian operating a ponzi scheme out of New Jersey and New York. He took advantage of other people who introduced him to his managed account victims and who themselves were in turn victimized.

There is no evidence then or now that the victimized people in Panama as well as other locations were anything other than victims themselves.

And besides that, what does a defrauded investor living in Panama who entrusts his money under a manged account program in another country with a person from yet another country have to do with any of us opening a trading account with a regulated broker in Panama who itself has offices in four countries (Panama, Miami, the UK and Hong Kong) with each regulated in their own respective countries? Nothing at all, it turns out.

So the referenced article is a strawman which only serves to confuse the reader here who is trying to assess the best and safest place to trade his account.

I live and bank in Panama and have for better than five years. There is nothing anymore fearful about doing that then there is about putting money into one of the vaunted safe banks, large financial institutions and/or forex brokers that have gone belly up in the USA, Australia, the UK and other so-called western first-world countries. Anybody who reads the news in recent years is well aware of that truth, so give me a break with the "bucket-shop" slurs. This is not useful or helpful to other traders here.

And no, I am not a customer, or an employee of inovaTrade nor do I represent them or introduce for them in any way. I am, however, interested in the truth and not innuendo or name calling. And I do not appreciate unwarranted attacks on the country where I live and trade.

Posts in the past in this forum under the username Apocalypto have seemed to be to be balanced, well-informed and fair and not a fallacious attack on an undeserving target. That is why this post is particularly puzzling to me.

Let us all try to be accurate and fair in what we post here. Reputations are at stake and good people here are looking for reliable, truthful information.

Nuff said.

I am sorry buy I would not feel safe sending my money Panama or any other country that I had doubts about their financial regulators.

Ignoring the link I have listed points that make me feel very uneasy about Inova Trade in my last post.

Anyway back to GoMarkets, I haven't noticed any connection issues.

One other thought about server restart.
You used to restart at 2:50, that meant that the restart was finished before the change of the hour, therefore, still gave us the H1 candle.
I think something:35 would be a better time.
Example: if you choose 01:00 for a good time, then actually restart at 00:35. That means the restart will be over before 00:45 and even if it takes a little longer it will still be over before the top of the hour and still give us a good H1 candle.

Also remember I would rather you didn’t restart too close to a gap, because that looks like you’re trying to stop us trading the gap.

You should have noticed that the last couple of days the server hasnt restarted. MT4 only restarts if it has to adjust some timings, we are currently on a new server at a new location which has led to less need for the restart.
All MT4 providers have the restart programmed in, the way it works is if you set the restart or its proper name "server optimisation" for 01:00 then it performs 50minutes of optimisation ( clients wont have any outage but the system will run daily tests in the background ) if after 50 minutes the software decides to restart then it will do and this will be at xx:50 past the hour so should perfectly be in range of what you have suggested.
You cannot set this any earier after 00:00 servertime as its too close to the previous days close of day and Meta do not advise this at all and can cause problems
There is never a good time to perform this daily task for every single client but what Go Markets has done is now look for times of least activity and clients should be satisfied with the results going forward.

Yes GoM, I have noticed that the computer hasn’t been beeping at me.
The main part of my previous post was for you to try and not let the server restart ooorrr what was it "server optimisation" too close to the H1 change over.

If the re start is at xx.50 and takes a long time as it has recently, it will be too close to the hour. The other day was about 40 minutes by my reckoning.I only have a tiny live account with Go at the moment and would like to put my real trading account with them, but after recent events I am not confident to switch over. Hopefully time will iron out the glitches. I haven't had any of this sort of trouble with my 3 other brokers. After posting on this forum last week and being told that any change in restart would be notified, and then the debacle a Monday without being warned is frankly not good enough. How hard would it be to send out an email to customers, or posting on this forum that there was a problem? I appreciate Chris stumping up and going into the Lions den as it were, but the underlying tech issues need to be sorted once and for all.

I appreciate your comments and appreciate you wanting to monitor performance before you commit more trading to our company.
GO Markets is 100% committed to ensuring seamless trading for all clients at all times or at least 99.9999% of the time, apart from server issues over the last week or so our uptime is very very high and we have now moved to a new server location with other locations being added in the next few weeks.

Yes it can be tough sometimes in the lions den but we can handle what you throw at us even if we are crying inside and we know that all you want is honesty and a soundingboard from this forum.

I have a question. I just heard that FXCM are going to transfer UK account to US for US citizens who have account in FXCM UK firm because of New Regulations. Even CMSFX going to do something. I dont know what GOMarkets going to do with US customers. Please explain me. Thank you

If you could let us know which hour to watch, and if nothing happens, we will be able to see how well the system is running, and then if something does happen, we can let you know.

My mistake I thought I mentioned it yesterday but I hadnt, if it restarts its at 09:50 AEST which is 01:50 server time.
You will have noticed though that since we have moved to new servers it hasnt needed to do the restart. If there is a restart its not saying anything is wrong at all it just needs to synchronise slightly with the Meta Software but because these servers are new it might not need to do it as often.

Hi,

Go Markets is only regulated by ASIC www.asic.gov.au here in Australia and not by any U.S regulatory bodies.
We are not regulated by the CFTC and also not afiliated to any U.S company so why would their rules apply to us at all?
Obviously all clients should do due dilligence before using an overseas broker of course but we are happy to continue to service our overseas clients.

in practice, how long are international clients taking to receive wire transfer withdrawals?

I want to time how long it takes North American clients to receive funds at their bank. (mainly USA). Uk clients are also welcome to respond.

If your bank has a swift code or not, mention that also. I want to know if that makes a difference in speed of transfer.

Hi,

I think its best you get independant verification from clients rather than us but I will say that all withdrawals are processed and sent on the business day we receive them. International wires normally arrive back in the clients bank account within 24-48 hours but again I will let you guys discuss that on this forum.

That would be instantaneous, at least within minutes.

Providing the paypal and GoM account has the same name.
