time to change i think sick of opening gomarkets and not having connection for like 10 minutes its not a hassle just annoying when it shouldnt happen

Hi Damien,

We have had no server downtime other than the MT4 daily server restart which happens at 02:50 server time daily.

Was this about the time you lost connection? Even so, it should not last 10 minutes but normally about 2 minutes only. When else do you get disconnections, if at all?

Hi Guys,

Positive update for you all:

We have made a fundamental change to the type of connection running to our live trading server this morning in conjunction with our hosting company.

From discussions with our server administrators, MetaQuotes and some clients we believe that the issue of slow execution for some clients should no longer be evident. Whilst we are not counting our chickens before they hatch, we are confident that clients should see an improvement and we would welcome any feedback.

We would also appreciate some clients, if they have the time, helping us with some testing from their own connection. We will perform a couple of test trades (at no cost to you of course) to make sure that all is working well.

If you need any further information, please give us a call.

Hi Chris,

Is this connection change causing problems with some of the spreads? EURJPY has been around 3 pips for most of the day, when it's usually well below 2

Hi,

There is no problem with our EURJPY or any other spreads. It is actually well below what we advertise as our typical spreads. Currently coming through at around 2.3 as opposed to our typical of 3.4.

Have a look at mt4spreads.com, we are as competitive as any other broker on there (perhaps with the exception of those also charging commission).

Has anyone got any feedback yet on the speed improvement. We are eager to know if the clients who experienced problems are now seeing better speeds.

Hi Chris

FYI have checked today on my VPS all trades opened and closed by my EA’s and it seems that the orders get executed rapidly.
Having said that I still find heaps of old tick error message in the journal tap.
The running MT4 platform is version 226.
By the way the VPS I’m using is based in San Diego USA and believe it or not the latency time to your server in New Zealand is shorter then using the snail ADSL service provided close to Melbourne

is there a problem at the moment? it is about 4.14am syd time and i am unable to access go trader, simply showing no connection. anybody else having this problem? my internet connection is working fine just no go trader??? i am using version 4 build 226

Hi Admans,

How long were you disconnected for? i have looked through the logs and there was no disconenction at our end and we show no obvious dropoff in the number of connected clients.

Please let me know if the connection is working now.

FYI Chris, the spread on EUR/JPY for the past month or so until this recent update has been between 0.8 and 1.5 pips on average ... I will just count myself luck for the past month if this is not the standard spread.

I have a question... i was trying to place a Buy Stop order at 10pm on Friday Australian time, and it came up with an error even tho the Forex market is still very alive in the US etc.

Does the company not allow trades after 5pm Friday Australian time???

Im trading at the moment so they havent shut. My platform did go weird for a few minutes earlier so maybe that coincided with your error.

Hi,
Yeah GoMarkets were having server problems earlier that were causing the errors, I called the after hours number and they confirmed problems with server, bummer I missed out on about 200 pips

Not of one pair but several of the yen crosses, G/J would have given 75 pips from my entry point E/J 100 pips U/J 50 pips.
Oh well more opportunities another day.
