Since the fix the demo platform shows truckloads of old tick messages....

There has been no change to the demo whatsoever. My initial thought could be that where the live is now operating faster, and the demo is acting as a slave to the live, it could be a fraction of a second behind.

What pair are you getting it on, and how does it compare to the live account?

Cris, yesterday I decided to find a broker.

And I come to this thread. This really helped me out to choice. You look like someone that want to improve your broker. And on monday I will open my account with Go.

there is also a relatively new discussion which started yesterday about gomarkets in the Yahoo group MT_E and I. It's a fairly large email list. One trader asked about experiences with gomarkets. Usually in a group this size there is at least one comment to the negative, but it was not the case. GoMarkets received only high compliments from the members.

I have some on my live server but more on the demo, doesnt affect my trading but wouldnt mind knowing how to stop them, I may have a look at the metaquotes forum and see what they say.

most of them are newbies and still not aware of this issue...

I have been trading live with them for 2 months now after 6 months demo trading and the most frustrating thing about GO is the Freeze Outs around news times and significant price movements. I trade the 5M so having the platform intermitantly freezing for up to 1 minute at times( i have compared it to other brokers running at the same time) is a big pain in the A... They do stop hunt as well. I have seen my live tade stops taken out at 5 pips from price. Slippage is also a problem. The two latter issues we can live with as traders but the freeze outs I cant. I will be looking for a non MT4 broker soon.

I have been working on the demo for quite some time now and talking with friends that have live accounts. My main problem is execution with the demo which is strange because in a demo you should have no problems at all.

I have ask friends with live accounts about execution and have been told it can take 3 to 5 secs to close out a trade at times and this is completely unacceptable in a fast moving market.

requotes? can someone tell me about these if they are a problem

800 + live trades, not one single one has been re-quoted. According to my MT4 journal trades get executed instantly which has not been the case before. So fingers crossed and GoMarkets has figured out this issue, time will tell.

You will not see requote issues with anyone here for the plain reason that they do not do "instant executions" any more (Which they used to a few months ago, and hell-lotta requotes back then, then it got a bit better, then worse again, and on and on...) - Nowadays all the trades executed are on "market execution", which means as soon as you press buy or sell at anytime, and if the price quickly moves while your order is getting executed, you will be entered into the current market price and hence SLIPPAGE is an issue now (ie. when you click buy at 125.05 and price moves quickly to 125.10, you will be filled at 125.10 and not 125.05).

Now what makes it worse is, and yes its still happening as of end of Friday 30/4/10, is that every excution, atleast on myside and many other people, takes 2-4 seconds to be filled. Now if the price moves in these few seconds or during volatile sessions, by that time and u get filled is at a price that you DID NOT CLICK ON! Furthermore, what makes it even worse is that during those 2-4 seconds if i press "CANCEL" to cancel the trade, it wont accept and cancel orders and fills you in regardless.

This is not right.

I called GoMarkets and was told to do the usual ie. check internet connection, re-install new version, etc ... I even explained what measures i have taken, but no solution.

What now?

Not a single qe-quote because of the fact that they dont have the requote system any more. They now have "market executions" - so instead of requotes, you get slippage.

However to long term and higher time frame charters, these slippages will mean nothing. On the other hand, for short term traders and scalpers, its a killer and add to your spread value.

They are quite good with their price "feeds" when compared with other brokers (obviously with added spread ontop for their own markup - which is no problem, they are a business afterall) ... i rarely have issues with freeze outs - no complains there. My issues are as above.

Regards your profile u are living in England. Why don't u go with i.e. activetrades or any other UK mt4 broker? Latency would not longer be an issue...

Hi porkhunt, welcome to forexfactory!

I would be keen to know more about freezes and the times etc, as I havent had this reported from any other clients or seen it posted on this thread of late. As for stop hunting we certainly do not do that. We have no dealing desk to hunt stops and it would go against our legal documents as filed with the regulators. If you want to send me any trades that you feel have been incorrectly stopped out I would be happy to explain the execution.

I have a live acc with goMarkets which I trade daily.

I havn't had any problems with them...slippage isn't an issue for me as I am a 4hr timeframe guy.

The one issue that can happen is that the MT4 platform can disconnect at various times...although im not sure if its my internet connection of if its coming from their end.

All in all they have been great.

This is what I'm talking about. Their platform doesnt disconnect, its a freeze out and if you take note it happens at big news times. You are trading the daily and you have noticed it.
