I am trying to come up with some sort of ideal software for keeping records and a trading diary!
the first thing I ever did was come up with a entry checklist with the typical stops and profit objectives.(Word)
I then started to keep certain trading templates based on chart patterns that I could compare current price to ideal entry requirements: helps with disclpine. (Excel)
I downloaded from cnet.com a 30 day trial program of IDiary, that is a personal daily journal, that you keep a daily log: helps recalling market state and recording images before and after trades are completed when rehashing old trades.
I also have been using a "Anytime" Organizer, to keep up with appointments and other personal crap etc..
I am just wondering, with all the great advancements in software, if somebody has not completed the ideal software for a trader to organize all of his/her trading information.
Something that might have something help organize a complete treading plan, recorde daily notes, plan daily schedule, all of the stuff that a impulsive person like myself has a hard time doing anyway.
I was hoping that a Day Runner type software would be ideal- but it does not readily allow for additional forms and sheets to be incorporated into its system. Excel has no general orgainizational framework pre-built for this, but I imagine you could create something- I just do not want to create something from scratch!
Does anybody know if Microsofts Project 2007 would work for this type of application? It appears like it would be ideal for creating a trading plan- I just do not know about the trading diary application or daily schedule part.
One of the first books on trading I read, Elder's- Come Into My Trading Room, Elder talks alot about keeping a daily trading journal and going back over your records a couple of times a year for critique. I am thinking about something similar just on steriods.
Any thoughts or advice??
