Finding it.
We are constantly searching for the Holy Grail of trading, the perfect “odds in favor” trading system. But where is it?
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that it does not exist within a fixed system, read all the other stuff out there that clearly states this.
But equally I do believe it exists within each and everyone of us, but how do we get there, how do we draw it out of ourselves?
At this point of writing this article I stop and hope that if I just submit this to the forum Martin will reply and give me the answer. But of course he can’t let alone won’t try. Why? Simply because the “How” is individual to each of us.
I have written this to help myself and hopefully point you towards reflecting on this challenge and seek your Holy Grail. I have also written this because recently I very nearly quit trading, I had found my Holy Grail but refused to believe it.
Learning to trade is fundamental to a beginning to your trading career but at some point you have to let go and ride without help. At some point you would have done considerable screen time, seen may entry methods explained, stop moves, trading examples shown real time etc then you can become dependant on this feed, a bit like the professional student that spends their life doing Degrees at Universities, put him in the real world and he can’t handle it and returns to the learning. I rather suspect I have done just a little too much of that in my trading career so now I have made a contract with myself to just get on with it.
I no longer need to visit forums except to contribute to them and help others.
I know PAT, I know the market, I know the basic set of rules I should stick to, I see situations where I am literally aching all over to trade but know I should not because there is no histogram, I know I should forget the last trade….I know…. I know I
should do this, I should not do that etc….
THERE found it
My Holy Grail
So what was the problem?
I simply did not act on what I knew, for me it was all about discipline.
