Given the very small retrace from London open bias seems to be down. Maybe just a dump before the cpi news.
M5 chart.

so anyone keen to educate me with tonight’s CPI news is it likely that we go into a long before or should we wait till after news to know where GOLD is heading. Thanks

Gold technically looks like short, but this CPI can undo any technicals. For me there is room for a surprise PPI says it should be low but it can still be high. So choose if you want to to take a gamble, my guess is up straight after the announcement and then carry on down as per technicals...........but im not trading till after.

With the new's it may go to the 3600 even more,so stay sharp,don't get scared from the wick at all

I would wait until the CPI news is released
Once released, I will decide whether to buy or sell

Same setup after the news, i just hope there is no manipulation and we go down to 3580-3540 atleast.

Gold hasn't had a proper correction yet and this news was needed for that correction... We where already in downtrend this news just helps breakdown the resistance easier.

Positive CPI and daily bias short.
Unemployment claims pushed it up.
But technically it should keep going south after the affect of news...

According to my earlier prediction, 3500 remains achievable. However, if the 3675 top breaks, that would invalidate my view.

I'll add to my sell positions once I see a full body breakout

Lucky i closed 2 trades in profit but left 2 trades open and both in drawdown... How it went from perfect sell setup to a buy setup is beyond me...

The markets are so crazy that on all forums even the most experienced traders I have been following are either quiet or they themselves are confused by the market, I wish I had the same mental strength as some of these guys to stay out the market or at least as they say doing LOL... 3 bad weeks in a row... 1 blown account and 2 breakeven so far... I need to take a break, reset and come back stronger because at the moment I'm making stupid trading decisions, more revenge trading than anything else!

The Market havent been really BAD in gold at least cuz its at too bad point where buying or selling both are not a good option and technicals are getting cooked everyday ...I havent been posting is cuz i aint taking gold seriously that much

but here is whay i been doing for some bread
gbp/usd trade i don't post on other fourms because i don't know anyone there....
1 hr timeframe btw

Agree with you ...the moment emotion takes control trading decision, we can expect random trades to be taken ...it is better then to just take a break and come back once our brain takes control the trading decision again
