UK 30-year gilt yield rises as Starmer's 'phase 2' begins
The yields on the United Kingdom government bonds continued to grow on Tuesday, with the 30-year gilt yield reaching a new 27-year high, after hitting its highest level since 1998 yesterday. Investors digested British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's comments, saying that he will lead the Labour Party into the next general election. Starmer will also hold his first cabinet meeting since he announced the UK government entered "phase two" yesterday, when he reshuffled his Number 10 team.
