Your Oanda Premium Relationship Manager is the only person at Oanda that you should talk to since he is there to take care of your problems. Talking to the Oanda frontdesk staff is a waste of time. The Premium Relationship Manager has some clout and should be able to thoroughly investigate the case. If nothing works with the Premium Relationship Manager and the regulator taking Oanda to court might be the best solution but please first make sure that you know how much the law firm will charge you for their services. I wish you good luck in recovering your funds.

Are there any Aussies having connectivity problems with OANDA's live servers??? I've been having a lot of erratic connection issues with my OANDA'S MT4 live account. The "No connection" status comes up more often than not... some times i get disconnected for a whole day...... OANDA'S customer services staff are saying that it is an OPTUS issue. Any other user(Specially from Sydney) in a similar situation???? Just in case I run a "tracert" and a "ping" report and sent it to OPTUS but still haven't heard anything yet.

Not sure if it's the same issue but I received an email stating that the Oanda servers would be down starting Saturday at 00:01 GMT (if I remember correctly) for approximately 4 hours for maintenance. Unfortunately I no longer have the email since I deleted it.

Thanks Hutch, yes I received the same email, but this is going on a daily basis for ages.... I'll see what Optus has to say, I don't want to think anything bad about Oanda. We'll see, thanks again Hutch and have a profitable one....

Lawyer, lot´s of patience and hard work ahead for you brother.
Could take months and more. Start compiling all the data, trading logs, trading activity.e-mails, everything, before you loose those also.Don´t post them here, just share with your lawyer, and make sure he does all the "legal exchange" with OANDA and Regulators.Any wrong written statement by you, works against you.
I own a business, lately someone sued me for 20000 Euros, (a criminal), I answerd no E-Mail and wrote no letter, everything through my lawyer and Insurance Company representative. We won.
Relax, calm down and work hard, also, there´s no hujrry once you have all the docs. organized..But ti will take time, and no guarantee of success, GOOD LUCK!

No swap for yesterday or today but there is a 4% admin fee for all TRY pairs. TRY pairs are so volatile that it's not worth trading them.

I am a USA citizen and would like to trade Dow and Nasdaq CFDs. I do not want to go overseas.

Is there anyway to sign up With Oanda Canada, as they do offer it?

If anyone knows or can help with that, please answer here or PM me.

I'm also from the US but I signed up with Oanda Canada in 2005. One of the requirements was to have a bank account in Canada that could be used to fund the account, withdraw profits, etc. No FACTA crap in those days Maybe rules changed so it's best to contact Oanada Canada directly.

Recently, my friend from India received an email from OandA stating it can no longer offer trading accounts to his jurisdiction. Any idea, which regulatory change prompted OandA to do this. OandA Live help rep is unable to provide this information.

Copy of that email:
Dear XxXxXxXx,

As a result of regulatory changes, we can no longer offer forex and CFD trading accounts in your jurisdiction.

We will be closing positions in your OANDA trade account prior to noon 27th August 2020 so you need to take necessary action and close your open positions and withdraw your funds.

Your account will be set to ‘closing only’ shortly after 4pm UK time on 20th August 2020. This means that although you will be able to close your open positions and withdraw funds from that time, you will no longer be able to open any new positions.

If you have any open positions, they must be closed before 27th August 2020. Any positions open after this time will be closed at market rates from noon UK time on 27th August 2020.

If you have funded your account, you should make arrangements to withdraw your account funds prior to the end of August 2020. Please see our withdraw funds information. Funds are withdrawn using the same method, same currency, and to the same account as previously used to deposit.

If you have any questions, you can contact our Client Experience Team whenever markets are open.

Oanda is regulated in many countries including India so if it can no longer offer brokerage in India it's probably due a change in regulation by the SEBI the regulatory body for the securities market or FMC the Forward Market Commission of India.

$500,000 is peanuts but more importantly the fine is not related in any way to trading by customers like it was the case for FXCM.

You've missed the point. It's a red flag when a registered broker misses net capital requirement.
