I think demo trading is the best way to practice. With no money involved, we can test our strategies before applying them in a live account.

Every new trader should use a demo account before trading in a live account. Because the demo account helps him to know all the basics of forex trading.

Maybe it's just me, but I suspect it doesn't require 31 pages to spell out "Yes, you fucking idiot. Demo first".

Can this dead horse be laid to rest now?

Apparently not. Even if this thread dies another will emerge on the same topic. From my experience over the internet, nothing truly ever ends. The more you want to curb something the more resilient it gets.

Some people don’t believe in demo trading but in my opinion it is of much help. Demo trading helps you to trade in the same way as to live. The only difference is you are not risking your own capital. Demo trading is the best way to gain practical knowledge. It’s better to practice on it before investing your hard earned money and then losing it.

Right! Starting it with demo is much better than risking your funds on the first day in a live account straightaway. First practice your strategies, know the technicalities and then give it a shot on live account.

if you want to start trading in forex market, you need to have proper knowledge. without knowledge you can not survive in this risky market. so, Make yourself prepared before starting your trading career.

Not bad with demo trading but results can be different with real trading. In real trading your money will be involved and you want to make profit with every trade but it can be difficult for you to make consistent profit with real trading.

Demo trading is essential process if you are willing to learn and improve your forex trading. Without them, you would have no idea what to trade or what to do while trading.

Demo account is like a stepping stone in my opinion. It helps to analyze risk.

Exactly. A stepping stone, training wheels, whichever metaphor one wishes to choose - the demo account is the tool that helps one learn without risk that distracts one from the learning process.

I think micro accounts with some amount you are comfortable to lose and forget, is a better trading practice strategy than demo account with imaginary founds.
