{quote} Hi kk100! Today I missed EU long (I was sleeping, it was before LO). After that there were no 6A setups on GU and EU so all forex trades today was on XAU only (it was 10 trades, 8 blocks). I can't trade ECHF and CHFJPY and other pairs like that because there are no volume data from CME. So literally I can trade only majors. But I don't have margin to trade all the pairs, and also I don't like JPY and CHF, so I'm trading only GU, EU and XAU. In most cases it is only XAU, because the movements are great and it looks like BTC (very close)....

Thank you for reply.

I don't like those pairs too, but have to squeeze somewhere pips. Many years the brexit hassle, made me avoid GBP, because you never know when EU or U.K politics shout something, and for CHF, never know what SNB has they mind. and NZD dont know who is pulling strings, sometimes it looks, some big players can easily can toss it like a rag doll, i am not sure, but feels sometimes like that. I am now study EU/GU delta and volume things, slowly and shanti shanti dire dire.
Would also like to focus only couple pairs.

If you are trading XAU with IC, do you see often slipage with them ?

For me volume is the key (and delta of course). It is a part of the puzzle. For example now I'm working on creating the orderbook indicator for mt5 to get live data from binance/bybit crypto exchange. Because all I need to see are walls. The problem is that on crypto I have to use limit orders to open and to close the position, but it is impossible once the price hit the wall. But on forex there is no difference in fees between market or limit orders so I can exit with no problem.

I tried to trade all 28 pairs + US500 + DE30 + Gold at once, but my stats say unpopular message: more trades more chance to stuck with a trade. It was 2-3 days of good trading and then a week to recover hedges. Not my style.

ICMarkets just freezes. BTW crypto exchanges act the same way (see my post where my sell limit order was floating LOWER the current price). Don't know how to manage that kind of scam...

Hey @ryuryu - just been reading your thread - I like it. Just wondered if you can tell me what conditions cause the "Arrow" to appear on your charts (referring to the early ones at the start of the thread).

Cheers.

Hey ryuryu! Sorry to say but all brokers may freeze at some point...
But slipage it's a totally different matter... I had the bad idea (maybe to much time to think during lockdown!) to try Global Prime...
I runned back to ICM, you know? At least they have good spreads...
So, not that we have to accept scams at all, but there are some things we have to live with when trading...
Cheers mate!

Hi Geester! The formula for arrows is: Close of current candle > (<) average close of X candles back. But they are also filtered by MA order, distance between MAs, place (higher DO or lower, 1,2,3,4,5 block range from DO, place in MA Envelope and so on). I also will add Asian Middle, High and Low too.

You can use it simpler way: if price > ema200 (for example), then show only long arrows, if lower then short arrows. I have a lot of calculations, they all are based on custom adr multiplier because I'm using bots to trade and I have to find exactly entry. That's why so many "if". But in manual trading simple >/< EMA200 (or any you like) will work good too.

I have rant them about these freeze and other issues, slippage is not a problem if its not all the time negative.
Is the freeze some kind of system load problem or do they that purpose and force people use stops and TP, maybe not. (Dunno)
I have seen during month, they are important times, this month was near frankfurt open 09.00 couple times etc...

Sounds dodgy. I remember years ago, I had the same issues with OANDA and CMC markets. They use to do the same thing to stop traders from exiting or buying in.
They have since stopped these dodgy actions.

Hi all! Not every day everything is ok. So let's learn a little. I'll show you my mistake made today to help you avoid it.

I have found good sequence to trade GU. Everything was ok, the main trend was down. Sequence was ok too.
But the problem was, that the signal come near the daily open. Often daily open is a hard point and there is a chance to reverse (bounce).
And it happened.
Next, I added more near x1 custom adr. But the price continue to go higher and higher. I was ready to close all in huge loss.
But the main direction was still down, and on 4H TF there were 50 EMA very close. So it was a chance to bounce back.
And price bounced back and I closed both positions in +1.98% profit.
As usual it was closed too early, the price hit daily open once again.

Short GU +1.13%

That trade was made because the main trend is down and the price hit daily open once. So it must hit it at least one more time. And it happened. So now, the trade was fast and good.

The moment when need to be calm and not overthinking. Great everything went well, and your long time frame analyzed was correct.

I try to avoid couple hours after Tokyo close (11.00), because have found for my trading style, sometimes i can get stuck, I rather eat lunch and go exercise, before New York opens. I maybe dont get trade or two, but its price for serenity and energy to focus rest of day.

OK guys new day started! Are you ready to rock?!?

Some fancy stats.

It was a task to double the deposit.

Start day: 21.09.2021
End day: 09.11.2021

It took 36 trading days (about 7 weeks)

Start equity: 10 000 $
Finish equity: 21 380 $

Min equity/balance was: 7 260 $ (so in fact 21 380 was made from 7 260 which is ≈300%)

Is it possible? Yes. Is it risky? Yes! Try to do it again? YES!!!

Some people could say its gambling, but is it trading if trade size is smaller. and both cases know what is doing.
Interesting to see how to keep brain similar kind of state, like in round 1.

Are you gonna go round two directly or are you gonna have nice weekend let your subconscious mind digest your achievement, and stat department study numbers.

Which way you gonna do it again using 10 000 balance or 20 000.

For me gambling is to make 10-20% per year from 100k deposit. The risk is always around 100% because my money is with the broker. It is better to buy property, there will be no risk, and also I can hedge the inflation.

I will use 10k again, because now I have zero risk. Also I'm plaing on forex and crypto at the same time with same deposit amount. It gives me advantage, because I can fix/move profits/losses to have average winning edge.

You are great position now.

I am thinking trading or gambling buying selling are pretty much same there is always risk.
is it house or pumpkin, oranges, car, insurance .......

Here if you sell your property, and if a new owner fuck with it, leaking water and create damage, they can sue you, and you have to give money back and interest, and pay lawyer fees. So there is risk too.
