Dear FXF Community,
I have a custom coded indicator, as well as an indicator from Ninjacators - both designed for NinjaTrader. Both work just fine.
My challenge with the NinjaTrader platform has been getting the email alert to successfully send me email when the indicators trigger.
I've been working on this for about two months. I've scoured the internet for solutions, and I've have a slew of emails to NinjaTrader themselves.
NinjaTrader (NT) does not seem to be able to help. When certain error boxes would pop up in NT, I would ask them what it meant, and how I might
go about fixing the problem. Sadly, they told me they didn't know. I understand that the issue may not be immediately within the NT platform itself, but how a company could "not know" their own error codes is a bit strange. Whaaaat? Anyway.
So, I turn to the FXF community to ask: has anyone successfully gotten the NT platform to successful and consistently sent them emails when their indicators trigger? IF so, any tricks you found along the way that could help? I have a feeling others may have had or are having the same issues here.
Here are some examples of error messages directly from NT, and the the customer help at NT can not help with:
Failed to send mail: System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.5.1 Authentification Required. Learn more at” <-yes, it cuts off there, no link is provided.
“Failed to send mail: System .Net.Mail.SmtpException: Failure sending mail. ---> System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: net_io_connectionclosed”
