Using MT4 to feed signals to MT5

I have experimented with MT5 but put it on hold.

In the meantime I would like to use MT4 to feed signals either directly to MT5 via some code if possible or output MT4 signals to a text or data file and have MT5 read the signals and execute, it would be only milliseconds of delay or a second at most. I'm not using it for HFT so don't mind the slight sub-second delay.

Has anyone ever thought of or experimented or actually do something of this sort using MT4 to trigger signals in MT5?

Not interested or able to port everything I use from MT4 to MT5 just yet.

Ignored
Constructing a cross platform API is much more difficult than porting. It's the Rube-Goldberg solution to a rather simple problem. There are libraries that you can paste into your MQ4 code to make them mostly MQ5 compatible.
