Another thing that springs to mind is the widening of spreads around news time. Currently backtesting a NFP day and i was already in a trade well before it took off, but i trade with Oanda and i know that they can widen their spread up to 15-20 pips ...

Thexder, I was just wondering how far behind the swing points you place your stop loss. I am currently working with 1 pip behind the swing but it is quite often that we see price come right up to the pip of the swing before reversing back again. ...

Yes fair enough Thexder. I understand it will be very laborious, but a few price alarms to inform of you of when trades are triggered should help a little, but yes, you need to keep an eye on things. Will be interested in seeing what you come up ...

Thanks Thexder for the quick reply. I will post my August results when they are done and then progress to September. Just out of interest, why are you not trading your 1hr scalping method with the 1min trail? I thought it was working well for you? ...

Ok, so you look to see what $/Yen is doing and cable. If cable is stagnant and $Yen is going down then Geppy will usually follow down, and vice versa. If both are travelling in the same direction then Geppy will fly in that direction, even better? ...

Would you elaborate on that a little when you get a chance. Like the trade this morning, where would you have bailed if it had turned on you? You seem to be letting them run, like yesteday, 180 pips.

Belekas, you seem to be raking in those pips. Do you just shoot for the T1 area once in a trade or do you trail behind swing points? Is your stop behind the opposite AL line? Just wondered how you manage the trade once you are in it? Steve
