I don't get why you would interpret the VIX this way. As per any market; that price represents the current net of interactions (in this case: in the SPX options market.. then turned into an index..30d implied vol, as you know). It's therefore highly vulnerable to future interactions: An incomplete process.

To think otherwise, for my money, is to find yourself caught up in the Maya of it. In other words; don't think "what it says" now. Think how it feels when new interactions take place.

It was more a joke than anything. But, I interpret the VIX as a real-time market sentiment. The /VX (and curve) being more of a forward looking gauge.

In the 15 handle, and falling, the VIX is telling us that there is no weekend concern. That is problematic for bears as we would like to see a little fear into the weekend. Now, we have to hope for an unexpected, negative change in the Iran situation (and that is not desired as it affects people in ways that are not limited to financials).

To be fair, all I want to see is a, I don't know, 2 day, rather than 2 HOUR drawdown? Get us back to the 20MA (50 would be ideal) and I am a buyer for sure. This thing has legs.

They are clearly stuck with this mess. They couldn't agree on the crucial point but yet do not wish to continue the war. This shows how vulnerable humans are, we thought we can decide and do anything. But in the end, there are many things beyond our control. May God has mercy on us!

As for traders, the best bet is enter small positions on low and sell on high on daily consolidation range, my opinion. Account will burst if take high risk positions on speculations and news. Mental health will be affected by such drama queens.
