A veto is not applied for the creation of a Jewish state. Veto’s only apply to the UN Security Council issues.

The call for the destruction of Israel has been part of the Palestinian charter since BEFORE the 6 day war and subsequent occupation, so it seems giving the occupied lands back is not the solution. That would only bring the militants who want to destroy Israel, closer to its border.

Egypt made peace with Israel, signing a treaty. They subsequently got their occupied lands back.
It seems those 2 factors are linked

You say they want to destroy Israel because of its occupation, when the charter to destroy Israel was drawn up before the occupation even existed.

Instead of maintaining a position of war with Israel, they should have made peace with them like Egypt had the sense to, then they would have got their occupied land back like Egypt did.

Yes. Really. In more civilized parts of the world, this is actually how we do things.

The 'destruction of Israel' phrase you love to throw around is more spin. The position was that the creation of the state was illegal and it should be dissolved. Referring to borders, not people. Of course that changed as violent apartheid become the new normal for Palestine.

I would take the same position if foreign powers divided up my country and gave pieces away. Egypt got their land back only because the zionists had no hope of holding it. It was not an act of peace, it was a strategic compromise.

So let me get this straight, because I need to understand this.

You expect Israel to keep receiving rocket and invasion attacks from Hamas, but not retaliate because Hamas use Human shields? You do realise that the vast majority of Hamas rocket attacks originate from civilian areas. That means Israel would almost never be able to retaliate.

In addition, the death of civilian Human Shield is primarily the responsibility of those using them as Human Shields.

Under Humanitarian Law, both parties are responsible for their deaths, but the nature of the responsibility varies between them.

Using Human Shields is itself a war crime.
Those who use Human Shields are responsible for putting their own people in harms way

The other side in the conflict must distinguish between civilian and Military targets (impossible when military strikes are launched from civilian sites).
Those attacking the military assets embedded within civilian structures, must give notice of attacks, which Israel do. (They even give mass evacuation orders).

Israel does need to have proportionality in its retaliation when the enemy uses Human shields. Hamas has been using rockets to attack Israel for 25 years, and shows no signs of letting up. They have been biting at Israels heals for a quarter of a century. Due to Hamas' enshrined Ideology of removing the legal state of Israel and call for Jihad as the only way to achieve this, it's very clear the only way forward for peace is to remove Hamas. But Hamas continues to provoke disproportionate responses from Israel to cause high civilian casualties through the use of Human shields. This is to reduce Israel's international support (this seems to be working for them).

Hamas also view the blood of civilians as necessary to fuel their revolutionary spirit, so there is a constant supply of militants.

So they use their civilians as Pawns.

Try telling that to Anwar who realised that peace was the only way to revive Egypt's economy and get the Peninsular back. He even went to the Israeli parliament (first time ever), to assure Israel Egypt wanted peace. The agreement was literally called, the "Land for Peace Concession".

That was a legal mandate. The 1948 war that caused many Palestinians to evacuate, was not started by Israel.
Much of the land was state owned, as such, it was passed from the Ottomans, to the British, to the Jews, via the Mandate. Some of the other land was legally purchased by the Jews prior to the 1948 war.

It's no secret Palestinians have been used as suicide bombers within Israel. This has long forced Israels hand at enforcing check points and military restrictions on Palestinians in the region. But people today only talk about the restrictions and not the security concerns brought on by Palestinian Militants.
