US industrial production up by 0.1% in September
Industrial production in the United States increased by 0.1% in September compared to August, according to a report by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors published on Wednesday. Manufacturing output stagnated, as the mining output remained unchanged, while the index for utilities output increased by 1.1%. Compared to September 2024, industrial production increased by 1.6%. Manufacturing gained 1.5%, mining improved by 2.8% and utilities rose by 1.4%. Capacity utilization stood at 75.9% in September, 3.6 percentage points below its long-run average and 1.4% higher than a year ago.
