    The White House has sent paperwork to the Senate to withdraw the nomination of E.J. Antoni as head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, three sources told CNN. The withdrawal comes after CNN’s KFile reported earlier this month that Antoni operated a since-deleted Twitter account that featured sexually degrading attacks on Kamala Harris, derogatory remarks about gay people, conspiracy theories, and crude insults aimed at critics of Trump. A person familiar with the matter said GOP Sens. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski had declined to meet with Antoni, potentially raising concerns that his nomination was in trouble. ... (full story)

Such a relief, otherwise we wouldn't be able to trade BLS reports anymore. As someone who's a total fanatic and very under qualified as EJ Antoni (literally has zero real job experience) would make the reports irrelevant.

I've only just got around to reading up on him. From NYT where an entire article was written on him-

“I’ve been on several programs with him at this point and have been impressed by two things: his inability to understand basic economics and the speed with which he’s gone MAGA,” Dave Hebert, an economist at the conservative American Institute for Economic Research, wrote in a post on X.

About the closest he got to the BLS before being appointed was to criticise it.
