The current rate of 4.25% to 4.5% is way too low to contain price inflation meaningfully. The National debt is increasing at an even higher pace than before, and monetary inflation is a natural outcome, indicating that the rates are very accommodative.

High rates is a cost just like tariffs, taxes, labor. 70% of treasuries is domestic so the high rates is a stimmy check to americans. High rates choke supply and boost demand resulting in inflation. If inflation comes down it will be in spite of the fed, not because of.
