Exactly what did the US provide by way of consideration to Japan etc for signing any deal?

From what I can gather it's been a very much one-way street. Japan invests in the US, and the US keep a part of any profit. Kinda thing.

What am I missing?

I'm sure the Supreme Court will elaborate on missing details and provide some truths rather than what we are fed.

This is obviously a political move. The factory of the World title is obviously going to India. It's already happening. But who is going to buy those dollars store goods which are low technological level if the US isn't buying? China faced that issue when COVID hit thinking they would be the new master of our World. They realised, if they got no customer, based on their supply chains and what could they do economically? They were and are in a very weak position. They have a banking sector which is prone to not respect basic regulation and just push it all down under the rug due to their political system OR have way lower reserve and debt allowance than the rest of developed nation. It's communist after all, it's also why their population level been inflated by at least -300M individual. Every level of government get their funding based per capita and then with time, they lose track on how many was there and they will certainly hide it and create fake document to avoid being thrown in jail by the next guy under him which accuse the next guy of corruption to get their position. When everyone in a position of relative power in China is by definition: Corrupt....I understand you might be from India, but we have to be pragramatic, friend. You need those technological goods if you want to avoid having to keep dealing with widespread ongoing issue when it comes to development.
