    US President Donald Trump said Friday that he had signed 12 trade letters to be sent out next week ahead of an impending deadline for his tariffs to take effect. “I signed some letters and they’ll go out on Monday, probably 12,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, adding that the countries that the letters would be sent to will be announced on the same day. His comments come days before steeper duties — which the president said Thursday would range between 10 and 70 percent — are set to take effect on dozens of economies, from Taiwan to the European Union. If you think (duh) tariffs are something that only other countries do (duh), think again. The US has had tariffs on pretty much everything and they've been in place for decades, some for over a century. Once tariffs get established, it has proven hard to take them off. The difference with the new Trump tariffs is one of degree. We have never seen 20% across the board tariffs levied on all imports from particular countries (much less 70% or 145%.) We'll see what happens if the high Trump tariffs stick. Since they are established by Executive order, they can be rescinded by a new POTUS. Meanwhile, changes to supply chains and trading partnerships could be historic. But, MAGA (duh) may get those factory jobs they've been longing for. Go get em.

MAGA voters want those jobs, that’s why they voted to crack down on those illegals doing menial work for minimum wage.

Let the tariffs finally roll in, they are amazing. We need this mess to end, for the brain rot Americans to finally deal with the inflation. It's the only way this ends. This back and forth is not good. I know for traders up or down who cares, but real people (and not just Americans) will be hurt by this

Who really cares? Even if the U.S. economy takes a hit from tariffs, the rest of the world will adapt and move forward. Meanwhile, the America Party is likely to check the current administration's power—which won’t be around much longer anyway. Cheers!
