FXCM passwords hacked this morning and now Oanda performing "maintenance" in the middle of a trading session.

Love how regulated these brokers are

Just for the records: I also manually tried to close my GER30 short @ 9582 at 9475 but to no avail.

They did not even honor the take profit @ 9480.

Somehow I'm sure they will honor the stoploss in breakeven.

I'm sure Oanda will be rolling out compensation for those effected negativly by the downtime

Looking at the chart on lower tfs there are empty candles during the so called maintanance. I suspect all orders have not been filled for anyone during this period.

Yeah - cewl - this means not even the communications infrastructure has some redundancy.

This might seed thoughts about their database or application redundancy - which is much more expensive than some redundant switches and comm-lines.

Lost 4% of my live account due to the Oanda maintenance issues yesterday.



Was just about to manually close all x3 trades that were starting to go against me, when the Oanda system went down. I would have lost just under 1% of my account if I could have closed my trades there and then. I don't trade with peanuts either. We're talking serious money.

Utter garbage Oanda - Not impressed at all.

My advice to anyone out there thinking of opening an account with Oanda, is don't!

If a brokerage company doesn't have another server, or backup system that they can switch over to automatically when something goes wrong technically, then their broker licence isn't worth the ink that it is written with!

Sort yourselves out Oanda! It just isn't good enough!

Guys, stay away from Oanda, until they do sort their system out. You are just throwing your hard earned money in to an empty pit otherwise.
