I have been using them for about 6 months now.
Overall I'm pretty content with them, no major issues.

What are you trying to say? Price hit my stoploss before going 10x more in that direction. I cant find anything bad to say about this.

What was your experience?

I don't understand what you don't understand. Of course you don't have anything bad to say about it as you're among the lucky ones.

If you had your stoploss a little bit lower, it wouldn't have been executed as Oanda halted everything, and then only executed stoplosses at the price of after the halt (more than 1 hour later) ... So your account would have experienced the whole "10x more" down move, meaning you wouldn't have an account anymore, which is what happened to all those who didn't have their stoploss as high as yours, me included.

I don't have the value for EUR/CHF, as I was long on USD/CHF.
USD/CHF pair was reactivated and stoplosses executed at 0.8775

Can you explain using a time line. I wasn't there to see it happen, im under the impression that the move took place within a span of time shorter than 15 minutes.

CONCLUSION:
1. Mega spikes like the eurchf (and worse) are possible....
2. Bucket Shops WILL save their own "behinds" first...
3. These mega events can be: sudden, unexpected, and they have the potentiall of wipping out years of profit and hard work.
4. Stoplosses might be useless, if not respected (platform shutdown).

SOLUTIONS???

One thing I will do, is take out at least half of my $, and park it safely on my savings account.
Keep trading with the rest, with increased leverage...but applying my math to "my whole tradin capital"..
I trade 5 pairs, uncorrelated, low spread.
Average 2 trades a day.
PROFITABLE.
I risk 5% divided into 3 risk sizes (exactly)...Each third goes in, according to my plan...if triggered.

I will calculate my 5% ,counting my whole trading capital (including the safe half in my local bank).
As my account increases, I will keep taking out $, and compensate with leverage for trading...

Worst case scenario if hit, I will still have at least 50%, if not more, of my capital, safe and sound in Germany...

This is a site for reviews coming from the staff - actual people working for Oanda. Not even employees like Oanda.

Oanda IS a market maker meaning, they make the market for you. Not hard to understand isn't? They take the other side of your trade. They're not a broker who provides a clean-unfiltered feed. They ARE the feed. A make-believe market, with some resemblance, with the inter bank. If you win, they lose and vice-versa. MT4 and Oanda? The gates from hell. I sincerely don't get how people insist on MT4. That's simply a toy. Eye candy. Plus having a MT4 with a market maker, simply outrageous. You deserve to lose. Don't get fooled by this micro lot, deposits of 1 dollar etc. Absolutely they want everyone on board. That's the catch. When you trade, there's many variables, mostly against you( capital risk, psychology strains, draw downs etc.) in top of that, having a market maker trading against you? How you'll survive?

Yes, they're going to go with something like" we are market makers this is why we have the fastest execution etc" That's obvious. You're punching orders in a server on a dead-end street. There's no zero-sum game, none at the other side of your trade. Of course, your liquidity is guaranteed because Is provided by a server. Fills will be fast. But they're talking about entries. When you really need a reliable fill is in your EXIT. This is where you are trading butt-naked at the mercy of their servers.. leaving a trade open for the weekend? Of course you're going to lose, baby. Is the interbank open on weekends? Which banks are trading on weekends?

I have a feeling traders are not losing only because of trading, but due falling into eye-candy selling tactics from crooked companies like this. The worst part is that, when you lose due a spike, data mismatch( and your stop gets filled out of phase), etc. they make you think is you fault. Unfortunately. some traders believe it.

Some of those reviews sounded "doosh baggie" like they are written by the insiders. Notice how "management" does not answer to critical reviews. Bad sign there!

Im profitable using OANDA, took me years of hard work...trading 15 minute charts.
BUT Im watching every trade sharply, not only to control my system, but to detect any potential cheating.
If it happens Im out ....
My first option at the moment would be MBT.
The only thing that keeps me with OANDA is the posibility of adjusting my R size exactly according to my plan, for each single trade.It would be a compromise with micro lots, I would have to round up...but better than a cheating bucket shop.
MBT offers a "non dealing desk"...
I know people, day trading with them for years, and verxy profitably...

Oandas tactics were discussed here in the past.

They can spike or collapse their price on the 5 to 15 pip range just to take your stops without facing many problems.

I myself compared prices on my oanda price feed and with a friend's oanda price feed in another state and it did not match with discrepancies as big as 20 pips.

And it is not only oanda. It is all and every MM out there.

Since your lost is their gain anybody with some brain will conclude where their loyalties are.

Funny cause I trade real $ using the OANDA plattform, but use a de Forex pro MT4 demo for my Indicators and studies ...Both companies are by no means related...never seen a difference of more than a few "pippettes" between the 2...(more than 10 years)

That was also my experience when I was losing or breaking even.

As soon as you start to make consistent real gains you will see how things change drastically.
So, you think you have rights? LOL
