I've been with the firm over 10 years. Not only do I work here, but FXCM is my broker. The reason that's possible is because unlike some other US forex brokers, FXCM provides traders with No Dealing Desk (NDD) forex execution. US regulations prohibit employees of dealing desk brokers from trading accounts through them.

Yes, the Active Trader Group is in the office. It's possible they were just all on the phone when you tried earlier. I've asked one of my colleagues in that department to follow up with you.

It is important to stress that FXCM is in compliance with all regulatory capital requirements in the jurisdictions in which we operate. That means trading, deposits and withdrawals continue as before. In regards to your withdrawal taking a bit longer, please note that January 19th was Martin Luther King Day here in the US. That means banks were closed, and we also had less Operations staff in the office due to the holiday. Turnaround times for future withdrawals will be as normal.

Appreciating the time on the replies, please don't feel it necessary to respond to any of my posts here at FF.

I am not a FXCM customer, nor had I planned on migrating over funds to your company.

In these times, I am sure that your actual customers would appreciate their concerns addressed, prior to other ambiguous questions.

There is actually US regulations about brokers posting on forums??? I would love to see the regulations on forum postings if you could provide them. If not, I guess it's just more bullshit from FXCM.

The spreads you posted were from right when trading opened for the new week at 5pm New York time on Sunday. Liquidity is generally lower at that time which can result in wider spreads. Now that the trading week is in full swing, you can see from the live table on this forum, that FXCM spreads are tight and competitive: http://www.forexfactory.com/brokers.php#spreads

It is not very hard to understand.

FF is a "for profit" company. So....if they are here for profit, where the money comes from?

Does anybody pay a membership fee here?

100% of FF money comes from advertising.

Take a look around the page. Who advertises here?

The brokers right?

The price charged to advertise, correlates to the amount of people that visits the site.

So FF has to keep the site interesting otherwise people will stop coming.

So when you see a guy helping keep the EUR/USD thread alive during Asia it is probably a undercover FF employee.

Those undercover also start threads which FF has interest, posting like crazy until the thread can go by itself.

When you see a "trader" that seems not to sleep and it is always online posting, thats probably employees taking turn under the same nickname.

When people start to post too much stuff against brokers or FF, if Twee or the broker comes here it may sound that the site id biased.

So they send their undercovers to do damage control, because a "member" is more neutral.

Thats just business folks.

I used to work for a very well known forum and I know those strategies by heart.

Immediate attention required – Financial Requirements Section 12 – Additional increases in required minimum security deposit for forex transactions

As you know, on Jan. 21, 2015, NFA's Executive Committee exercised its authority under NFA Financial Requirements Section 12 and increased, until further notice, the minimum security deposits required to be collected and maintained by FDMs under Section 12 for transactions involving the Swiss franc (5%), Swedish krona (3%) and Norwegian krone (3%). At the time of those increases, NFA alerted FDMs that NFA was continuing to monitor market conditions and that the Executive Committee could decide to make additional increases to these or other currencies if market conditions warranted. Given the continued volatility in the foreign currency markets, the Executive Committee has determined to increase the minimum security deposits required to be collected and maintained by FDMs under Section 12 as follows:

Major Currencies:

Japanese yen – 3%
Australian dollar – 3%

Other Currencies:

Russian ruble – 20%
Brazilian real – 9%
Mexican peso – 6%

These increases become effective at 5 p.m. (EST) on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015 and will remain in effect until further notice.

the question: will you guys come to work for the rest of the week? you know, the snow!... should i be in your place, i'd just trade jason! yeah, with fxcm and with the new margin requirements! it's cold, cabs are expensive, my shoes are 5% of my income- i wouldn't come to work anymore. get rich soon, jason, before fxcm goes tits up! (it's your broker, that's why i'm sayin'...)
