Good Morning Gentlemen..... It's been a while since I set up MT4 but I just got new comps and here's the stupid question of the day.//

How do I get mq4 or exe indicators into MT4 ??

I have saved the files on my comp.
Gone to C: Drive / Program Files / My MT4 / MQL4 / Indicators >> I have placed the MQ4 files there.

I have compiled each one in Metaeditor / also restarted MT4 several times.

I can see the files in the Indicators folder.

But when I click on Insert / Indicators / Custom >> They are not there

What gives ??

I assume that due to compiler errors the indicators do not work.
You could try compiling them with the build 509 editor, details: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=470340

Hi Price,

check your journal tab. Explanation should be there :
Ctr+T to show the terminal
then click on "Journal" tab

fix what? The indicator is working fine. You must compile it using the build 509 editor, ...
I think now everybody should have read it that <=build 509 mql4-files may not compile errorless with the latest builds ...

i want remove its closing order condition. I want it open every time when signal find it open a trade. At lost i break out

Hello.. this indicator.. LightIndy.mq4

Can you program.. to send only (one alert) when touching.. 95% level.. actually the alert its repeating all time.. repeating.. repeating.. repeating.. repeating.. repeating.. alert.. while the indicator its in 95%.. Can you fix that?


This would be nice to receive only "ONE ALERT" to my mt4 mobile phone when 95% level touched.

pls. try -> Set "AlertTrendLevel" to the level on which you want to get alerts ...

some time ago somebody has posted some indicators and wanted an ea build from them.
I have picked up the SSG Fbar indicator and added alerts.

Further I made an EA from that. I think it is not profitable, but maybe somebody has suggestions for additional filters (like moving average) ? ...

edit: 2.5 months backtest on m30, ok, it says nothing, but maybe the ea can be improved ...

That doesn't work any more. They made it tricky for us the stupid geeks. You have to go to C: Drive /users/[your user account]/AppData/Roaming/MetaQuotes/Terminal and you will find a folder there with another folder called 'MQL4', and in that you will find the experts and Indicators folder and library folder that you actually put your EA into. The added headache is that if you have multiple MT4's installed there will be a number of folders that ARE NOT NAMED TO THE MT4 PROGRAM. So you have to try pot luck or put your EA in ALL the folders. Whoever made this changed is an absolute idiot, as the experts and Indicators folders that exist in the C: Drive / Program Files /... do NOTHING, and are a waste of space and are there to just confuse the crap out of you.

Thank you fxdaytrader. I have compiled some indi's with the 509 build. I will attach one to verify.

I am close but they still don't show up so I am missing something.

(To anyone who may know....)

In my folder: comp > C: > Program Files > OandaMT > MQL4 > Indicators > I have the default MQL4 files and my compiled ex4 files. (No custom MQL4 files there)

But they don't show up - same as my quote above.

I am either missing something or I didn't compile them right. Or maybe something else.

Yeah I read it. There were some foreign languages in there I didn't quite understand. Namely MT4.

I'm not a programmer and I don't wish to become one. I would love to have a pivot point plotter and an MA cross alert, but it seems build 600 has made it out of reach.

I appreciate all of your efforts here but I may need to find some simple indi's that are b600 compatible.

can all order clsoe on trend chnge. and indicator give an alert thet the trend change. plz any one solve this problem
