Hello,
I’m a full-time trader w/ just above a decade old experience in the markets. I had a small experience in institutional finance until I made the leap forward to go solo a few years back.
I would like to share my views on the markets here and, as much as possible, calling here some of my trades. As you know it is hard to trade, analyze and writing in social media at the same time
I don’t presume to teach trading to anyone. I am always learning and seeking new info myself. Reading papers, books and articles on markets, structures and traders is a necessary routine. I would however, try to demonstrate – w/out any presumption of superiority - that retail traders can make a living off of trading financial markets.
I believe many and better examples exist beyond me, but this is something that occurred to me last year and that I would like to try. I know how “sneaky bastards” brokers and banks can be, if getting the better out of the markets wouldn’t be a daunting task as it is.
From my experience alone, I know its hard to get to a point where you can live off it. Very hard, but possible. Also, I had to recur to employing specialists in some areas (energy, for example): it was another leap forward and almost as hard as the first one.
I don’t want to give away my trading methods: had to work a lot to develop them. I know everyone can relate to this. So you should not expect that from this thread.
I may, however, explain how I came about creating those methods and what I consider to be essential to trading successfully and my current ideas on directions.
My trading portfolio includes equities, bonds, futures, derivatives and forex. I trade forex in 2 capacities: (1) as a hedge against currency devaluation on other assets, and (2) as a standalone trade.
I have several methods for different groups of pairs. I take into consideration the fundamentals, technicals and market sentiment. Might explain how and why on future posts, as to not lengthen this one. I prefer daytrading the forex markets the most, but it is not the one that brings me the most joys.
I hope someone will enjoy these forward posts. Critique and/or ask away what you will, you will be most welcomed.
