Forex Flash: Gold has peaked, beginnings of a new chapter - RBS

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Gold value evaporation from recent days should be seen as the beginning of a new chapter in gold, says Greg Gibbs, strategist at RBS, adding that "after the size of the fall in the past two days, we might expect a bounce, but the strategy now is to sell on rallies."

The fall in gold however does make sense, says Greg: "It makes sense because gold is priced in USD and the USD has been broadly strengthening. Not consistently against all currencies at the same time, but against most it is flat or up over the last six months and indeed over the last two years."

Lastly, the RBS strategist adds: "Global inflation may not be as bad as QE doomsayers expect, and for gold measured in USD it ultimately depends on whether you think the Fed will debase the USD. I personally do not. I expect them to end its QE if inflation rises too far and/or if unemployment falls towards their threshold. As such, gold, I think, has peaked..."

Tuesdays response is going to be interesting as the 21.70-90 area is 2010 breakout of yearly highs and is tested for the 1st time,
we then went on to hit 31.90 area for 2010, where we then went on to 2011 and found support at 26.35 area before breaking out of 2011 yearly highs and heading on to $50 area.
The problem for the bulls as in any timeframe breakout to the south is she usually stays south of the break for the whole timeframe and were talking a yearly break at 25.65-85 and 1532.

I am a big fan of cosmology and it seems this chart is based on planetary cycles, very interesting concept.

Hello friends, hope everybodys fine it has come down to the $1400 mark finally, I see $1400 and below to be a good price to get in, what do you people say?

i do sound paranoid but i am going to believe it is all orchestrated.

silver & gold fell down further. and will bounce - when, dont know it yet. however what i know is that silver and gold can drop 25 % more. gold can hit triple digit.
so anybody who is thinking of going long now, should keep that in mind that there is 50 % chance of silver and gold to go down more. and that is very strong chance considered according to probability rules. the other 50 % chance is consolidation which will be long. can take months even years.

the second probability strongly depends on the fact that America or its Allies are not going to start another war. wars always drive gold and silver higher.
