XAU/USD & XAG/USD - Gold & Silver Traders Thread

I normally do 470pip (micro account) or $4.70 in volatile times. sometimes I will even go down to $2 when I am scalping off of a RSI stochastic bounce.

On crazy bull times I normally do $120 or $150 stop loss.

now what will happen? gold break 1641 $ strong resistance level?

Hi all....added to my long position again this morning as below for the obvious breakout.

30 min RSI14 is diverging here, so trying a short scalp.

that didn't quite work, got out for +0.11 USD.

got long the 5min bull flag at 44.58, protecting 0.10 now and hoping we break the highs for another lift.

XAU out of long for +1.08, short now RSI9 divergence and bearish engulfing at the high on 5M chart

Hmmm my stop loss got hit. Not a great start for my first trade of the year. Price just kept finding support at 1,631.00. Oh well, will wait now for another set-up

Not so nice on this trade unfortunately, I just use standard FXCM charts and the MA is an indicator called McGinley Dynamic Indicator. I use it to enter trades, combined with the SAR on 15m chart.

Does trading off the 5M chart work well for you?

you got to read into context, I have 15M and 30M open too, those are my main guides, 5M is for finetuning. For example this last move had a 15M inside bar when we had a H&S on the 5M, when that broke at 43.90 I went short, got out at 40.00 cause that was previous top on 15/30M.

I got out of that RSI divergence for a minimal gain cause I had an internet disconnect for 45 minutes in fact I had moved my stop allready to slightly in the plus and when I got online again that turned out to be hit.

shorted again when the 15M didn't manage to return above the TL

taking a short on aurum

should be a good drop i believe.

Planning to TP at the next support fanline (blue square).

Noted response at the 1648 and take 30.16-26 pa especially candle formations @ 30.16 area, as shes showing us the direction on 5 min. and confirming what sis said.

the resistance at 1645 based on square of nine was hit on we should be moving 45 degrees from here is 1610 support.

wow now yer talkin, somethin new to look at.

As we look at the 5 min. both dropping below yesterdays projected highs 1635 and 29.80 at same time is noted.

Greetings - happy new year, merry Xmas and all that jazz

Had a month and a bit break as my contract finished so I did 6 exams (project management/business analysis/IT governance) over the Xmas period and didn't want trades ruining my concentration. The exams have paid off now as I've got a great new contract starting on Monday which will fill my trading account with capital which I really do not want to end up giving to my broker...

So on that note I'm short XAU targeting 1625 (4h chart) - just to start the year off...
