Hi Mohan, seeing that you got several Australian accounts, I was wondering if you have an account with Pepperstone by chance? If so, what's the avg spread and execution time like? (I know what they advertise but reality can be quite different). Really interested to check it out.

Euro session > 1~2times
NY session > 2~3times

Every freeze takes about 1min.
It's ridiculous to trade(especially scalping) with this amateur broker now.

Yeah i'm using a kind of "toolbox" of different scripts for my trading at the moment, it is very useful. I've made some changes to the ea, included a magic number, and updated my other scripts, so i think that it is all working well together now. I've attached the ea as it is now.

by toolbox i was referring to an include file so you can immediately have access to common functions without constantly rewriting them and whatnot.

just had a quick look at the file. is it an EA, or a script? it looks like a script to me, so you calling it an EA is confusing.

edit : cool, now that i have formatted it properly i can see it's a script. /edit

also, you have some errors in the code. why do you add 7200 to both time values? ima rewrite this and repost.

edit 2 : actually, not so much errors. hard to read though with the formatting. still rewriting anyways.

I use it as a EA. the + 7200 is to convert the time to server time, if i use server time then it logs the server time when the last tick was received, which may be a second or so earlier, not the actual server time right at the time it is run

edit: sorry about the formatting, i don't really know the conventions used to formate the code, i just format it the way it makes sense to me. apologies

an EA is specifically an EA and never a script. there are fundamental differences between the two. even though you made this seem to loop infinitely it's still not an EA, and will always be a script. that said, it's probably best as a looping script instead of an EA since, to my understanding, scripts run in their own threads whereas EA's don't and therefore you can't put an EA in an infinite loop (which is required to accomplish what this script does) without locking-up your whole mt4 and instead have to rely on the EA running only once per incoming tick event.

the 7200 bit is not how i would have gone about that at all, but if it worked for you then cool. i would rather leave the addition to when you are actually printing or writing a final figure instead of appending it to both of the variables beforehand. it's a bit messy.

anyways... i took your code and butchered it to death. as i might actually use this at some point, and i've put an hour or 2 into this, i've renamed the attached file in my own naming convention. it's not like i will be pimping this around town and whatnot since the source is right here on public display.

once the script is running you will find it difficult to attach the script to other charts, and i did this on purpose to prevent a whole bunch of limit orders being generated by multiple running scripts when you only require one script and one limit order being updated. you can still manage to get around this basic safeguard if you somehow decide to manually delete the limit order and then attach the script to a second chart before the next update occurs (i.e. during the countdown). this is bad and will have 2 separate scripts running both making updates at different times, but since it requires you to manually create this situation on purpose then just don't do that

instead of having to try to detach the script, which can be hit or miss and take awhile to seem to do anything, i've made it so you can press F3 and set the global variable in there to any value other than 0... and this causes the script to end itself naturally instead of an mt4 forced deinit.

also, as per previous chatter between you and yummy, the way i have coded this will allow you to record or print the amount of time taken for the limit order update to complete to the millisecond (but only as accurately as windows itself is capable of reporting).

i've commented out your file writing section since i didn't want this on my pc, but you can uncomment and update the variables etc to make it run again (keeping in mind that itick1 and itick2 now represent milliseconds now instead of seconds).

have a look, see what you think.

p.s. it seems you were on the money when you said the timeout was 30 seconds. if you set this script to update at something like 33 second intervals then it takes time to get out of the context busy, but if you set it to update after 28 seconds (which it is at the moment) then it generally goes through immediately. i don't know if you worked this all out on your own, or chris told this to you, or someone else, but that's good shit to know... so thx!

Thanks for your work- all that have added to it. I am interested to try the difference for executions. Does the 30 sec thing apply to other brokers generally?

UPDATE: I put a buy in, seemed very fast to go through. Put a sell in, the tp went to .0005. Changed the tp, then it went back to .0005. The ea is changing the live trade.

no idea about what brokers do what. i would assume (whether right or wrong) that it's an mt4 setting that probably isn't configurable by the broker.... therefore i expect that all brokers would be the same. but, this is all new to me so i'm guessing.

i'll have to have a poke around and see what i've done that would make it change an order that isn't the keepalive order. sorry about that. my bad >/

ok that was shit. it was an obvious mistake and i think i've cleaned it all up now. i know i keep saying this, but i'm tired (when am i not?) and i should be asleep right now. the source is there so people can make of it what they want.

personally what i would do with a script like this is bind a shortcut key to it, and also have another script that sets the global var to 1 (which causes this script to end itself nicely) bound to another shortcut key. from this you can simply switch the script on and off by 2 simple shortcut keys much like a light switch.

i wouldn't be leaving this script running at all times. that would defeat the purpose of the trade server not keeping itself connected already. when you want to send or modify orders (scalping etc) then run the script, then once you are done switch it off and don't harass the trade server with this constant and now pointless stream of order modifies that aren't doing you any favors anymore! use sparingly and be nice!

p.s. the text that pops up in the corner to let you know how long is left until the next keepalive is due to occur is a label so you can move it wherever you like on the screen. i've also now made it show how long the previous keepalive took for the modify order to complete. for me it shows between 100 to 500 milliseconds with an average of about 250'ish which is totally ok by me. at least it's not 10 seconds or 1 minute etc. hopefully that nightmare is behind us all.

I tried it out. Crucial VPS to Go averaged around 200ms, Crucial to Vantage there is no point quoting an average because it's so erratic, so the range is 640 -1200ms.

I have read on another forum that people are experiencing 1000ms with Pepperstone on a CNS VPS since their move to Wall St. So Go definitely seems best in this regard.

The citi bank has the highest bank charge & wrost exchange rate I have ever seen in the world.

I remmit 5000USD to JP morgen bank from bank of china by personal account. Bank charge is $20.

I remmint 1000USD from my company's account, they charge 55 USD.

And the company suffer great exchange loss every month by the negitive exchange rate.

Your Go execution time is perfect! around 200ms?
I'm using MammothVPS, l pinged to Go's server DC1(ip:118.127.74.114) only 1ms, but got horrible execution time: 3000ms and more! Why? I have heared about that: "the more profit you made, the more exection time you got." Is that true? as it for me, it is correct. I used to experience less than 500ms before, and now 3000ms, thanks for Go.
