Price did freeze quite a few times during the FOMC spikes but did not disconnect. Execution times are good, but that doesn't work if the price doesn't move and then gaps to your stop and you've missed your target, or your trailing adjustments don't work due to the price not moving. I lost a lot of money today due to this problem.

I have platforms open at home as well and compared them to a live Pepperstone platform. Pepperstone didn't freeze...
Thanks Coral, I guess that rules out the VPS being the issue.

Apologies. Avg ping to Go/Sydney is 7 ms. To Pepperstone Sydney is 1ms.

Your mPanel at Mammoth website will show performance statistics, no report of downtime or problems with mine.

I don't trade manually from the VPS. Normally it is a set and forget operation. I wanted to check today how things were going during a high impact event, so logged in. I certainly had the price freeze, but also noticed a couple of 'login' entries in the journal.

The mPanel performance stats do not show anything obvious. There is a very small network spike around that time though.

Perhaps logging in to the VPS caused the issue?

I'm not blaming Go at all, I just want to understand why I made some donations today and how minimise doing it again. Doesn't look like there is an easy fix. I don't want to have to monitor network traffic on a limited resourced machine.

Hi Guys,

I am not looking to point fingers, so just asking the question based on a number of emails we have received. Are many of you using Mammoth VPS? We have had a few clients reporting some disconnections at around 4:00am Australian time, and all of them are using Mammoth.

It may be coincidence, but if not I would want to contact them to find out if they had any known issues around that time. It could be that if they have lots of Forex traders using them, a spike in the data caused by increased market volatility would cause problems for their clients.

I will see what I can find out for you all.

I had the outage at around 4.20 for memory chris not long after the fomc and so did a few mates. It was prob 3-4 min long.

Well, it seems things are back to how they were. Just had 3 disconnections/reconnections in the space of 2 mins. 5 minutes after London open.

We complained month's ago before you knowledge that there WAS a problem. Then you tried to fix the issues and now you get back saying that we are exagerating a bit?

So you checked and as usual you didn't find any. DID you found ever an issue in last ECB meetings/ NFP/ FOMC? As I can back check NOTHING! Only firewall got spotted when it turned rogue and kicked everybody out.

You should monitor big events by a human not just logs. This issue is related to events where price move too fast and your server then crawl to send all the ticks to customers! Doesn't mean that CPU will be at 100% or RAM too. Web server too have such issue when they can process too many request same time. This is the main issue and you should watch that unstead of sleeping .

Despite that think that Go markets server moving to US or Europe will get better service for customers outside of australia IF you want still want to graw that business.

With all respect hope we find a solution fast not in month's.

it certainly was better monday and has gone downhill since.

NEVER EVER USED a VPS! I might use for testing servers located in europe but not for trading!

Used testing on my PC's Many location, many countries! ON DSL & using 3G+!

Issues yesterday were not noticed on server but my desktop!

Why Go markets freeze in big events almost EVERY TIME while other brokers I have on Same PC survive the load??

This is a go markets issue never faced it before with other brokers so often.

Go Markets should seriously consider to have more local servers serving different continents. PepperStone, Vantage and AxiTrader each has different local servers in other countries to better serve their clients.

well, they are extremely measurable at my end. They seem not only measurable, but definately visible - see my charts below.

The two blackouts right after London open were extra tasty ones; it was a >2 minute outage followed by a 1min one. They were even followed by disconnects - tis not always the case; mostly the feed will just stuck and i have to watch some other broker's demo to look how my trade's doing until your server gets merciful again and sends my MT4 client the missing data so that it looks like nothing happened.

The issue seems to be related to sudden increases in volatility and session starts. I can't tell it for sure (don't have extensive MT4 server knowledge) but i think the problem is not in the client/server layer.. it seems to be further inside.

I will screenshot all visible outages and post them here. Chris, please don't ever try to blame it on any hw/sw/connection issue on my side - it simply isn't true.

I'm not using a VPS and my GoMarkets live platform is frozen right now even as the MBT one (demo) is working fine.

I run two live accounts with Go. They both reside on one Crucial Paradigm VPS. Last night at 4:24/4:25am EST one suffered two disconnects while the other traded like clock work. Each account only had one chart open with one simple EA running. No fancy graphics, no other software running - ie. the VPS is not being pushed hard at all.

Given that all of the equipment in this case is in common, but one account works while the other doesn't, I can understand how people have arrived at the conclusion that the Go Markets server is doing some load shedding (dropping clients) when the going gets tough (incoming ticks-wise).

The account that behaved perfectly was trading much larger lot sizes, I wonder if it was a coincidence or whether the multitude of smaller accounts get the chop before the bigger ones?

again charts freezing!!!! no more following price action over go market. Second charts not freezing. This is really CRAP CRAP.

Top task this week is alternative broker will not play mouse & cat over this or wait month's until Go markets gets back to biz!
