1min ago, at 4:01 a.m e.s.t. the eur/usd fell quickly 14 pips so I placed an order to buy hoping to grab 5 or 6 pips, well I counted 11 seconds for execution and by that time it was where it was when I first pushed the buy,would of been a quick 12 pips but not for me because I`m with GO MARKETS.

everyone knows you can't trade high impact news times with Go! go look at the factory calendar sometime and trade around the red.

in roughly 3 hours from now i predict you will again get a laggy connection or disconnect.

I have had the same probs with orders for along time sometimes bad all night soemtimes not so bad, it isnt good for going larger in order size thats for sure never know what your going to get. I just dont say anything any more I was getting sick of hearing my own typing lol.

Probably over 12 months since I first complained about freezing and slow execution times and it seems to be getting worse.

I do find it strange how they say the problem is not at their end when another mt4 platform running along side on one computer can work perfectly when go freezes. I just cant work it out......must be my internet connection............hmmmm

time to abandon ship I am thinking.

I'm trading on their multiterminal and it's struggling keep explaining to my clients why one make 5 pips and one lose 3......................................................

Yeh I secound it, GO markets are not suited to scalpers as today its taking up to 40 secs, which is common with this broker to place a trade after you press either the buy or sell button.

Have in the last 2 weeks opened and funded acct with GoMarkets. Have yet to place an order with them, so I haven't had any issues... but what I'm hearing doesn't fill me with confidence.
I've come from FX Futures and while Spot has it's advantages, if I can't get a fill what's the point of a 24hr market and the crosses that are available.

Please keep the reports on platform/fills coming and eagerly await a reply from GoMarkets.

Its such a shame coz if nice quick execution be hard to get a better broker.
I dont mind a few outages here and there I can deal with that but slow execution is the worst.

I'm going to leave GoMarkets. While the spreads are good, the fills on market orders are just too slow, the pips missed really add up in the long run.

But is there really any MT4 broker with quick fills ? I doubt it.

My fills are nice and quick with go markets, there was 1 outage today but it only lasted a few seconds, it didn't affect my trades. My VPS is located in San Diego.

Hi Guys,

Yes there was an outage yesterday on one of our servers. This was the second such outage in the last 4 or 5 weeks. Of course we are looking into the cause of the problem with the help of MetaQuotes.

As for slow executions, I do not know how many times I have to ask people to contact us directly and give us the details so we can have a look at things. Of course most people do not for whatever reason. In fact despite a few of you reporting slowness yesterday, we did not receive a single email to our Trade Support inbox reporting an issue.

We will always look into the problems you have, but unless we are given exact details, how do you expect us to look into it? It is like calling your Vodafone and saying "things don't work very well, I had a problem" and then when they ask for more details you hang up the phone.

One person on here who has had a problem it seems for around 2 years has traded with us since we were a white label, then we changed servers after getting a full MT4 licence, and then we moved to new servers. In that time the servers have been in three different locations and each time has moved to brand new hardware. To me, that shows it can't be a problem at the broker end.

I have offered to visit someone to have a look at their connection and see why they sometimes get slowness, but unfortunately we haven't been able to arrange a suitable time for that...

If every execution lasted 10 seconds then obviously there is a fundamental problem, but if someone gets executions of 1 second most of the time and then suddenly gets one of 40 seconds, I do not see how that is a broker side issue. If it was, every single client would get the same problem.

I will not sit here repeatedly and say we do not have a problem because nobody will listen, but I will say quite simply that if there is a problem that we do not know about, we can only look into it when our clients tell us about it. Rather than commenting on a forum you need to contact us. If you do not contact us we cannot find a problem, or find out what is causing your delays.

If people do not want to contact us for some reason, then that is up to you, but I cannot help you.

I watch the clocks on the Market watch window of MT4 applications running simultaneously and GoMarkets feed is always jerky and regularly freezes.

To test my observation, I open MT4 for GoMarkets; AxiTrader and Pepperstone and run them all on the same computer and then also each on seperate computers but all fed by the same ADSL2 connection. No matter which configuration I use, the GoMarkets feed underperforms the others and goes regularly for 5 seconds to 30 seconds (and often more) where the feed is frozen. The other brokers have a second or sometimes a couple of second freezes but nothing like GoMarkets.

You claim that you don't have a problem but I challenge you to get out of the office and connect to GoMarkets MT4 from an internet connection not related to your company. Watch the MT4 clock and tell me whether you think that the feed is smooth.

I stress, in every other respect I'm happy with GoMarkets but you have the worst data feed going around and your insistance on restarting servers at about 10:00am AEST is crazy.

If that is accurate, perhaps it has something to do with GM being on that giant island littered with wallabies and kangaroos. Australia does after all have only two connections to the world wide web through South East Asia and North America. Perhaps if GM had servers that executed trades and provided price feeds that were not only in Aus', it may help?

I dunno, just throwing stuff out there for thought. That and being that my trader's VPS is in San Diego, I would love them to co-locate one of their trading servers with CNS's data centre again.

if you want to keep an eye on your connection you can glean some data by checking received ticks per bar versus the reported volume for said bar. the issue is that incoming ticks received while your indicator or ea is running are ignored anyway, so it's possible during busy times to have a mismatch when there isn't a problem, but you wouldn't expect to receive only half the ticks when the volume is only something like 60 ticks.

right now i can see that my connection is pretty ok, except for about 10 minutes ago my connection obviously dropped for a bit and received next to no ticks for a particular bar, and the last few minutes have been slightly sketchy too. once london opens i expect the quality of data received to drop on my end based purely on personal experience. but i'm connected wirelessly and don't expect to have a brilliant connection anyway.

it'd be interesting to know who is plugged directly into their router and is having issues, and what isp etc. if everyone with problems are all riding the same isp then that'd be a clear indication of an issue.

Our internet in the office here is totally seperate to our trading servers, so it is not a better connection than anyone else can get. Our office has a simple internode connection. We do not have any direct links to the servers.

At home I use iinet and have a Naked DSL service. I find that to be just as reliable. Of course I get the occasional time where it sticks, but I am using wireless and my laptop is crap!

I have tried it using a Telstra 3G dongle as well, but I definitely would not recommend that!

With regards to the time of the server restart, we are instructed by MetaQuotes to have the daily optimisation within 3 hours of the close of the day. Our close of the day is at 8.00 AM, and our optimisation occurs at 10.00 AM. If there is a scheduled restart it will occur at 10.50AM. Yesterday was nothing to do with a scheduled restart, it was just an unfortunate problem.

As for the price feed, whilst I do not agree about it being the worst feed around, there is often good reason for there to be lags. Many liquidity and feed providers have their servers in London or in New York. That means that from Australia there will be a latency of around 250-300ms. That is something that is hard to avoid.

With that being said, over the next few weeks we may be upgrading to a new bridge. That bridge may perhaps run on a server giving slightly less latency, although we will not know until we get that installed.

The only way to give less latency is to have our servers closer to liquidity providers, but then many clients will get slow connections to our server and higher latency.

It is very much a balancing act and something we are always looking at. If it meant that everyone would get better executions by having our servers in the US or London, we would do it. The problem is that we will never please everyone as it is impossible to be perfect for all.

Can you confirm that platform freezes of about 10 seconds on a regular basis are normal and acceptable? Can you also explain why two other Australian-based brokers don't have the same problem with MT4.

I'm not a knocker Chris and I'm not trying to be a smart-arse here but I'm a day-trader and I can't stand using Go at the moment. I'm located in Queensland with a pretty good internet connection and yet I get a better feed from Interactive Brokers US servers for goodness sakes.

They now put a minimum of 2 pips (20 pips in 5 decilmal digits world) for targets or stops.

It is for everyone and there are no plans for it to go away...

Live chat person told me it was because their liquidity providers asked for them to do this.

So now it takes long for the trades to get processed and it is no longer possible to scalp within the spread.

I guess forex is kind rolling downhilll all over the world.
