The key point of information is stage 3. The shorter this step, the faster the execution. With that in mind you will benefit from connecting to a DC closer to our main servers (in Sydney). As with any kind of network, as a general rule, the speed comes down to how far you are from the destination, and it makes sense that a connection from Sydney to Sydney is faster than San Diego or London to Sydney.
We normally recommend that you let the platform connect you automatically to the best available DC as it will usually result in the best possible...Ignored
What would seem to make more sense is to:
1) have multiple main servers / secondary trading servers near 2-3 major DCs, say London, UK and SDCA, USA. Then the latency would be small as the trader now has real choice to connect to DC that would actually route to the closest trading server.
2) consolidate the DCs into 1-3 DCs all surrounding the main server / trading server.
3) combination of 1 and 2.
...unless there is something i'm missing?
