I was about to ask the same thing on this thread, looks like I'm not alone.

I trade with oanda and I've also been having a couple of problems when I updated my java version a few days ago. But, even so I'm not having problems executing trades or anything else... It just tends to crash when i'm inactive for awhile and still isn't all the time.

Hi guys.
There may be an answer here in the thread but I'm just not able to find it.
I have been trading using Oanda with MT4 (Demo).
I realized if I add to my position, my first trade is stopped and only the seccond one is left to continue. Yesteday my first trade was stopped with some pips +, today at 0.
Have you seen such thing happend and does anybody know how to avoid it?

darkwater, you have no idea. Here a quote for you from your article, which YOU HAVE NOT READ:

Oanda still leads by far in terms of account profitability however this may change in the next report as NFA has recently clarified how the account profitability should be calculated: reports from now on won’t include dormant accounts which were paid interest thus making them profitable (more on this here). I know for a fact that many brokers were unhappy with Oanda’s numbers and I can only speculate that some of them asked NFA for ‘clarifications’ on this issue – hence the new ruling.

from here as i live in bangkok/thailand i can not open the platform nor the site www.oanda.com itself.

anyone experiencing the same problems?

its not the computer. i have three computers here, java is running well, a router as well as computer restart didnt help. also the next internetcafe has the same problems.

i tried several US-Websites to make sure that the earthquake in japan did not cut the cable... from cnn, foxnews, weathersites and governmentsites i can say everything is running well including all java applications i found.

also my interactivebrokers account is running well.

here oanda is completly dead for at least 3 hours, 6 hours ago it started to disconnect from time to time.

Has any one been a victim of the 4 hour candle mistake? Off by over 20 pips on the Today's 4:00 am and 8:00 am candles U.S. Pacific Time

here in bangkok still no access to any oanda related web application, even just the ordinary www.oanda.com website is not available.

now also www.interactivebrokers.com is not available.

i tried via a proxy server to get access which worked out.

without proxy i tried many of the dow30 companys, some american exchanges like the cme and other us-related websites - they all are working.

so i cant figure out what the problem is...????

anyone with an idea?

oanda candles are the middle of the bid and ask

i also called my provider as i experienced that only one ISP had the problem.

now they called me back that it was a problem with them and they fixed it already.

it was definitely not a problem caused by oanda.

Not fixed yet. still appears that the candles are still the same. I am done with panda. I can't trust my studies then if i am using them, no way can i work with their charts. terrible.

dude, what are you talking about? please explain, because i have never heard anything like that when other candles are off.

I just know that when I was monitoring across all my charts,
take a look at the recent 4:00 am and 8:00 am 4 hour candles. It is off by about 18.9 pips for the 4:am and over 30 pips for the 8:00 am.

Pip,

Oanda candles print the "average price". You can set the charts to show the bid and the ask, and you will see them below and above the current printed average price. These are the levels your orders will get filled at, and Oanda is not shy about widening spreads when liquidity is thin.

If you are even more curious, you can chart the lowest/highest bids/offers using the "studies" function (where they put the indicators), this will print lines over your candles showing what the farthest bid/ask was at the time.
