I wanted to start this journal for several reasons:
1. I wanted to be discipline when it comes to trading. I've already written an application that I use for book keeping, planning and reporting of my trades.
2. I wanted to receive feedback from the community as I'm fairly new to Forex
3. I wanted this to be a cathartic experience as well which I detailed below:
I've been trading forex for about 7 months now (5 months paper trading and 2 months live trading). I guess I got started "trading" back in August 2008. I started by buying some puts on CRM. During that time from August to November, I accumulated a nice amount of bearish options. During one Opex, I made about 25k. That was the most amount of money I had ever made in a day. Unfortunately, I let my luck get to my head. I began to think that trading was easy. Well, you can probably guess what happened next. I went on to make every mistake a person could make. To make a long story short, over the course of 2 years I went on to lose 200k. So I've had my proverbial ass handed to me in the most severest of ways.
In essence, I hope that this is a Renessaince of my trading career. I've read through a lot of the trading systems on FF, and my ever evolving trading style is based off of threads: Ken's Continuing Successes with EO, BRV No Brainer Trades, Trading with Deadly Accuracy, etc. I'm trying to concentrate on trading higher time frame charts with using the 5 and 15 minute charts to zero in on my entries. I am currently trading a small account about 1k. I use very little leverage when placing a trade as I want to get as many trades as I can with this account. The money I make or lose is trivial. Hopefully, in about 3 years I can graduate to a bigger account. I realize that there will be many moments of frustration and self-loathing, but I'm willing to put up with the growing pains. As you can see I take this very seriously and am in it for the long haul.
Anyway, I will be posting charts, trade scenarios and results in my journal so that my progress can be tracked. Again, any feedback (positive or constructively harsh) would be appreciated.
N.B. - If you're crazy and decide to act on my research that's fine, but you are responsible for your own trades. I've learned the hard way that you have to do your own homework. Don't make the same mistake I did!
Thanks
