In my view, the price should close the gap, though it might first test new highs—especially if a sharp drop is anticipated following a Fed rate hike. Even so, it is best to wait until after the New York open to see the price break out of the current range and determine its direction.

"last range" POC at 4048 and VP shows "range" mode.., if we'll take range following Fib, we got 4038.50-4110.98.., breaking any side can lead to "SOME" extension..,
btw, WPP/Classic at 4066 & DPP at 4052.., price plays between 4109/DeMark's MPP & 4091th/DeMark's WPP
and future MPP/Classic around 4087th right now

. Also yea NY has been crazyyy these past few weeks. I couldn't tell you about months since I've only recently started trading gold but I will backtest ( though I do assume it's more so because of the war market? ).Just for perspective, last friday I lost 4/5 trades in london and 1 BE. I made all of that back up on a singular NY trade with proper confluences and confirmations ( which I do most of the time but london just doesn't seem to care about PA ).
