Ultra-Low Time-Frame (ULTF) Trading is a trading style in which the final decision to execute a trade is made on a sub-minute timeframe (<1 minute). Higher timeframes (1 minute and above) may be used only for context, directional bias, key levels, market structure, and other higher-level analysis.
I don't see many people here trading this style, so I'm hoping this thread might spark some interest and encourage others to explore it. I'd also love to see more experienced traders join the discussion and share their insights and experiences.
Rules:
- Strict "No Asshole" Policy: Hate speech, personal attacks, disrespectful language, condescension, emotional outbursts directed at other members, or any other form of toxic conduct will not be tolerated.
- Keep It Constructive: Constructive criticism, feedback, and debating and challenging each other's ideas, concepts, and setups are welcomed and encouraged, as long as the first rule is respected.
- No Showing Off / Ego Posting: We are here to learn together, not to flex or impress each other. Do not post only winning trades; share your losses as well - those are often golden.
- R-Multiples Only (No Dollar Amounts): In line with the previous rule, performance should only be expressed in R (risk per trade), not in monetary values ($/€/£).
- Chart Posting Criteria: Posting charts and trading session reviews is reserved for members who have at least a somewhat defined trading strategy. Absolute beginners and traders who are still developing a strategy are more than welcome to ask questions and seek guidance instead.
- Stay On Topic: Please keep discussions relevant to ULTF trading.
- No Soliciting, Recruiting, or Self-Promotion
The OP reserves the right, at their sole discretion and without prior warning, to permanently block anyone who violates these rules. In most cases, however, a warning or temporary suspension will come first.
Recommendations & Best Practices:
- Clear & Readable Charts: Screenshots should be clean and easy to read. Ideally, clearly display your entries, exits, stop-loss placement, and higher-timeframe context in a single image.
- Execution Timeframe Notes: For practical reasons (too many trades, lengthy individual trades, etc.), it's not always necessary to include your execution chart in every screenshot - just be sure to mention which execution timeframe or chart type you used.
- Contextual Sharing: If you share YouTube videos or other educational content that inspires you, add a brief note explaining why you are sharing it and what key takeaway we should focus on.
- Proper Terminology: ULTF Trading is not the same as scalping. Please use the terminology accordingly.
The OP may dislike (hide) certain posts if they feel a post distracts from the core topic or violates thread standards. Please don't take it personally.
About Me:
My name is Gauranga. I am a full-time trader for the past three years. I started out swing trading, but after discovering the advantages of short-term trading - and especially ULTF trading - I never looked back. If you're interested in seeing how my trading evolved over time, you're welcome to check out my journal: https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/...rangas-journal (I will soon be retiring it to focus and post here instead).
