Regarding the MT4 platforms distributed by brokers—aside from visual modifications to reflect their branding—are there any other alterations that affect the OHLC and Volume values used as the basis for indicator calculations? After all, aren't those values downloaded directly from the server to which we are connected via the broker?

if your output at broker A versus broker B is different, and it is based on open, high, low, close, etc... maybe the two broker's clocks are set differently?

the answer could be that simple... but i dont know for sure.

you have to get under the hood of the indicator source code and figure out why the price series that is used to form the indicator is different between the two brokers... anything else and you are guessing...

Another thing that comes to mind is, for example, sometimes brokers use different hours for market breaks, so one broker may have more price data than the other. But, as a rule, you should be using the broker's platform, and never log in to a different broker, even though it's possible. There are many nuances about how brokers customize their instance of MT4, and that can cause even deeper problems.

Since you wanna make it public. I was offering to compensate this guy for his time although maybe I was wrong in assuming what he wanted nevertheless instead of trying to make an example here he could've expressed that to me.

On second thought I'm gonna stay clear of this someone with B**** tendencies. Regardless Thank you for your contributions on this forum and thread someone might find utility in what you offer to this community. it's just not me. Tc

Though I am fully aware that this has been going on, most probably since the begining of FF, ForexFactory IS NOT a platform for soliciting coding jobs, or any other jobs. You can read that in the User Guide:

There are other sites where you can find a freelancer to do a paid/commercial job for you.
Therefore, by using the ForexFactory private messaging feature in order to solicit a coder to do a paid job for you, you are breaking the rules set in the User Guide.
And, if I took your offer, I would also be breaking the same rules!!!

Thank you for the clarity in the user guide. You seemed like you could bring in a solution timely. If you didn't want a coffee i could have just as easily made a donation. Truth be told I only wanted values in a buffer fixed nevertheless i don't mean no trouble so if i trespassed I apologize mate.i was ignorant of the userguide

Also, these days of AI assisted coding, you could as well ask an AI to fix it.
Just describe the problem. Claude AI is pretty good at this, Manus AI also not bad.

AI tends to overcomplicate codes and often doesn't use the available MQL4/5 functions.
The AI will simply use C++.
The coder needs to remind the AI what it should do.
Also, we can set up a skills set file and upload it to the AI, or like in Claude, create a project where the skill set will always be included.
The problem is that by default AI will just quess the answer.
It won't check the MQL4/5 documentation first, unless we specifically tell it to do so.
I reality it's usually like this:
AI codes something,
I look at the code and tell it not to overcomplicate,
AI codes it again,
After a while, I tell it to read the documentation, and then everything becomes nice.

AI can be very useful for writing tedious code, like data compression functions..

but for things like a trading bot? omg.. that gets written by hand..

most likely ai is not going to give out the recipe for that secret sauce that goes into your indicator function?

and that is why the great majority of traders do not have a functional trading indicator and/or bot.

i do enjoy thinking about moving averages, besides the fact that they are purely a lagging indicator, lol..

i was inspired recently about a method to layout a moving average that semi-removes the lagging and converts it into leading.

and it isnt that difficult.
