It is, literally, "do what you think is right at the given moment".
That's not a strategy.
That's pure gambling.
RSI has no information if the market is actually oversold or overbought.
Also, if you study how RSI was first developed, it was meant to be interpreted the other way around!
60 - 70 was indicative of strong bullish trend.
40 - 30 was indicative of strong bearish trend.
When markets became more consolidating than trending, people just made shit up with the OBOS bullshit.

You don't understand the strategy. When the indicator signals a bull market, the price often reverses from the lower RSI levels. This is a pullback in the direction of the trend. Do you understand??? Do you get it???? Take a good look and backtest it thoroughly. You will see that the win rate is incredibly high, and it yields 2x to 3x profits

Clarification: How the M5 Trend/Range Strategy Actually Works
Since many of you misunderstood the logic, let me break it down clearly using the attached chart.

  3. STEP 3 (The Entry): When the RSI is at the 30 level, we wait for a reversal candlestick confirmation (reversal candle form). Once confirmed, we immediately enter a LONG (BUY) trade in the direction of the main trend.
  4. Result: As shown by the red arrow, the price reverses beautifully back into the uptrend.

How the Filter Saves You from Bad Trades (Crucial Example):
Look at the far right red circle with the red 'X':

  1. The indicator starts printing Sell signals (yellow arrows) at the top. This means the 55-period momentum has shifted to the downside.
  2. Therefore, WE DO NOT ENTER LONG when the RSI hits the 30 level at the bottom.
  3. As you can see by the red 'X' marks on the RSI, the price broke straight through the level and kept falling heavily. Entering a long there would have been a loss. The indicator's 55-period calculation perfectly predicted this drop and kept us out of a bad trade.

Why this strategy is highly profitable:
In a healthy trend, the price frequently bounces off the RSI extreme levels back into the trend direction. Because of this, the win rate is excellent. Furthermore, by catching the exact end of the pullback, your Stop Loss is tight, allowing you to easily achieve 2x to 3x profit (1:2 or 1:3 Risk-to-Reward ratio) on your winning trades!

I have upgraded the indicator setup to a Dual-Period system for even better accuracy:
The Filter (Higher Period): I use the 55-period setting as my main trend/momentum filter. It determines the overall market direction and tells me whether to look only for Buys or only for Sells.
The Entry (Lower Period): By clicking a toggle button on the chart, I switch to a fast 4-period setting. I use these fast 4-period arrows to time my exact entry when the price is hitting the RSI extreme levels.

Yeah, we should drop it, because it's a useless bullshit strategy...
I will just hint you that there are better methods of figuring out which direction is better.
The EMA STD Dev Channel is relatively good, but it needs a few other factors to consider in order to know when NOT to trade.
All you need is Wyckoff and to understand the Forex Master Pattern.

Look at the M5 chart, not the H1 chart. Of course, there are false signals, but if you enter using a 4-period setting, there are even fewer of them. Use a 45-55 period as a trend filter, and execute your entries with a fast 4-period.

If something seems to work on M5, but not on H1, this means that you just found some random and historical situations which happened to fit your idea, but you ignored all the other identical situations which didn't work.

There’s a huge difference between the M5 and H1 charts. The market moves differently on the M5 timeframe. You get multiple waves within a single trend, unlike on the H1 chart. Just saying.
