1. A Houston federal court judge dismissed a lawsuit by Kash Patel that claimed Frank Figliuzzi defamed the FBI director in a comment on the MS NOW show “Morning Joe.”
2. Figliuzzi, a former FBI official, had said Patel has “been visible at nightclubs far more than he has been on the seventh floor of the Hoover building,” the FBI’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.
3. “Figliuzzi’s statement is rhetorical hyperbole that cannot constitute defamation,” U.S. District Court Judge George Hanks Jr. wrote in his decision.
4. The lawsuit is unrelated to the $250 million defamation lawsuit that Patel filed Monday against The Atlantic magazine over an article that alleged he has abused alcohol.

‘We are facing the biggest energy security threat in history,’ IEA chief tells CNBC

 

1. Birol has previously warned that the Iran war and ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz would result in “the largest energy crisis we have ever faced.”
2. An average 20 million barrels of oil and petroleum products were shipped through the strait every day before the war.
3. The waterway is currently under a “double-blockade” with neither Iran nor the U.S. allowing vessels to enter or exit the channel.

“As of today, we’ve lost 13 million barrels per day of oil ... and there are major disruptions in vital commodities,”

 

1. India and China are now locked in competition over crude supplies, mainly from Russia and, to a lesser extent, Saudi Arabia.
2. So far in April, both India and China are going head-to-head, with each securing equal supplies of Russian crude.
3. Saudi Arabia has a vested interest in supplying more to Beijing than to India, according to XAnalysts.

Putin is the biggest winner in this US/Iran/Isreal war.
