We are near 50% of an weekly close.
Untill daily don't close above, sorry but you can see big wicks downside... In fact only this spike tap where matter most, the bodie of a fresh one... That is aligned with another that become resistance.
So caution only see one side....

bitcoin is also flat or negative since gold rose 100 dollars yesterday. i think its more of technical 4804 break and then 4833 break caused this move and failed 20 pips short of 4894 which relaistically is a target until 4804 is again taken out

I don't know, is respecting an weekly resistance also 50% and if you look left you have Ny consolidation at same zone...

But you level is aligned with an old sell limit mine at 4891.050 tp 4818

Bullish case
As long as price holds above 4835, the trend is intact and another push into 4855 and then 4872 is possible.
Best long ideas:

  1. buy a pullback into 4835 to 4816 if you get a bullish rejection candle
  2. or buy only after a clean M30 close above 4855, then target 4872

Bearish case
A short here is only a countertrend scalp unless price starts closing below 4816.
If 4816 breaks, then the chart can rotate down toward 4797 and 4778, but that would still just be a pullback unless those levels also fail.
Clean forum style paragraph
XAUUSD M30 remains in a bullish structure with a clear sequence of higher highs and higher lows from the 4683 low into the current 4844 resistance zone. However, price is now extended and consolidating under near-term resistance at 4855, which makes this more of a reaction area than a clean chase entry. As long as 4835 and especially 4816 hold, the trend remains constructive and a continuation into 4855 and 4872 is possible. The higher-probability long setups are either a bullish rejection from 4835–4816 or a confirmed M30 breakout above 4855. A break below 4816 would expose 4797 and 4778 as the next pullback levels.

Already said here to me 4820 is now a magnet as the lower range we are in as daily testing, despite i respect momentum.
I don't give nothing as granted, but averaged this seems align...
From where is the dificult part and i will have to take some risks, the last one was well because had the trade locked and hit before the spike lol

I am looking for much deeper targets like 4735 or back to 4647 which was weekly open if we break 4804. gold is showing a perfect correlation with nasdaq100

AS max can go 4778 zone, we did close inside close range, so i expect that test on daily and as a test if fail, yes can go way deeper...

But at same time i do not want to see daily close above our levels, after 50% gone this test can take way more time...

XAUUSD — Waiting for Confirmation
Price is back at a key level around 4800–4850.
This is not a place to guess direction.
What matters now is confirmation.
Bullish scenario:

  1. Strong break above 4850
  2. Hold above the level
  3. Then look for pullback → long continuation

Bearish scenario:

  1. Rejection from the zone
  2. Failure to hold above 4800
  3. Break of short-term structure → short

No trade in the middle.
This is a decision zone, not an entry.
Wait for the market to show its hand — then act.

i sold the same price 4849 cracks are coming and it can be a deep retracement. dont bail out so cheaply

But as i knew 4820 need be taped or test whatever, i know 4778 zone need at daily tf, but this one can take time not always are straight.
Candles don't matter to me, open/closes matter.
Not respecting 4820 in 4h to me is strong momentum, and i am pretty sure no one can already grant that is over, work as resume trend also...
Tomorrow or today they will give another setup as test or magnets, i don't hold much my trades.
My trading is based not in trend but recognize sensitive prices that are taped after specific conditions are met.

yes the move has never been straight this entire month. there is a festive day in India on Apr 19th which may lead to gold buying. keep an eye on that as well. i have generally seen front loading ahead of these festive activities

I mention early, daily close above 4778 is a bullish pattern more times than not, and the most commom price movement is test it now.
Tipical will reject to push up again, but if fail bears take control again...
Is how i see this pattern.
And i always say that they don't need to test prices that i call magnets or test, but almost a must be averaged, oh yes...
This one is also a weekly so weekly can 1st do his thing to then come here, price can be a chaos sometimes, they have strange movements to in the end go tap what normally tap...
Look what happened today... Come on? Pure manipulation to do it exactly what i was screaming all night and most likely daily can do too...
Is how they operate, they give smooth times to make us confortable and when we don't count puff...
I just have small patterns to try engage in larger ones not necessary they will, and the smallers are always better odds.
And i teached several ways to measure that, but the open one, that 2 deviation not beeing respected??? In a spiral like we had, daily most likely testing lower at resistance, daily closing rejecting bullish several levels and deviations? For just 30k move the tipical move pullback on gold in this days minimum?
From there i insist they can resume, is just one of my oldest patterns working with fractals and opens.
We just need an edge be paid that is why we are trading and move next day.
