Bessent on Iran, oil: U.S. will take control of strait over time

True, but /cl is hovering around $100 at the moment. NOT as high as one would think after the weekend headlines.

Of course, it only takes 1 explosion to drive everything to the "next level" of market concern.

Interesting situation brewing though: /ng (us natural gas) is down some 4.5% today. Gold and bonds remain bid along with crypto. I guess it is a typical "Monday during the war" and Tues/Wed flat>down leads to another Thursday/Friday crash lower, BUT....every day that passes brings market hopes one day closer to that 'culmination'.

....but one does have to wonder: This president doesn't suit up unless he intends to fight, so would the use of ground troops be inevitable? Seems so. The question then becomes "just how far 'forward looking' ARE markets???"

Personally, I am pleased to see there WASN'T a massive, 4% rally on each of the last 2 tweets (yesterday at futures open and this morning). Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be 8% higher at the moment, but, for market stability, a steadier rise is much healthier. Now the see how long it can hold.



Final thoughts: oil/energy/war is driving everything right now. Meanwhile, has anyone noticed MSFT and META are back at April 2025 levels? Megatech has been taking it on the chin. If there is some stability that returns to the energy world and, somehow, these tech giants catch another bid, the market could scream higher through a significant short squeeze as investors once again pile into "hope".

........but that's a big "IF" (and the counter argument is......sure, but what if the other big tech boys ALL fall to April 2025 lows as well....then things crater).

Gotta "love" market making, right?
