I accidentally leveraged more than i should have so i exited to protect my capital, but it ended up hitting TP.

Sorry dude, that is not a good feeling. But look at the bright side, you just lost 1300 pounds, something hopefully you can afford to lose.
When you come back to trading, trade with a demo account. Don't lose your hard-earned money if you do not have a proven system.
If you find one, then you can come back to trading. If you don't, then don't trade with real money again.
The ultimate result for trading without a system is losing 99.99% of the times.

If you want to protect you from violent 9% swings, I suggest you buy spot gold on a crypto exchange. You will have zero risk of margin call because you own the asset.

This day has been very difficult to trade, but I knew a bounce will happen when the 4H RSI was at extreme 17 oversold readings.

There might be further correction, but at these levels the price is starting to look more reasonable, specially with Daily RSI around 30.

I don't get it - what is difference with the market today and low volatility days?
If you know to manage your risk - you adjust position to current volatility. Then you can trade as usual. Of course you need to set up SL during opening as you saw the moves recently.
If I risk the same as always - why would I stay away from market- this is for example best time for me - I already made profits I planned till November in last three days.
Just because I surf during this windy days
Just remember what you do and don't overexpose- risk management is crucial here as always on leverage markets.

If you make mistakes you will just lose faster now- but if you make mistakes you will lose money anyway

I know it's not related to gold, but Crude oil is the most disgusting instrument to day trade. I do not recommend

The problem is most don't adjust to market conditions. It is almost guaranteed that there will have been a lot of wiped accounts today because of that factor.

I would have walked away with those gains from that well timed trade! Honestly I cannot help think it was just a ploy to tank oil prices as that is everyone's biggest concern and complaints. Plus Fed have said high oil prices is causing inflation concerns and Trump wants rate cuts ASAP and that would stand in the way
