In Iran It was the Imminent threat with nuclear weapons (last 40 years according to some) and the threat they cause with funding elements hostile to the west. Houthi started getting active after the increased military action against Palestinian civilians.

That being said, For them to be willing to go at it with IRAN who has the means to level the region with CONVENTIONAL MEANS was incredible. A dumb civilian like myself knew that Iran had underground citties just like North Korea with stockpiles of missles etc. They are leveling the region with 15 year old Munitions!

If they wanted to be hostile to the region they could have just launched everything already and in the past.

I guess my point is that Powers will go to war and the public will determine if that is legitimate and often times the large population of those who did not choose to go to war, but are affected by it, will ultimately cause the war to end, Swing the balance, Or put those responsible out of power, if it is not successful or the methods repugnant.

Actually, only started the war in 2015, after Ukraine agreed not to join the UN. Immediately after Ukraine agreed Russia attacked Kraimia.

Then Russia again created the revolt in the Donbas regions. This made Zelenski wanting to join NATO. Then Putin attacked, and has been stucked there since.

Now Putin is only using "they wanted to join NATO" as an excuse. He broke the "Non military agreement with Ukraine first." Putin is a pig .
