One thing I’ve noticed trading XAUUSD consistently is that direction alone is not enough — execution timing matters even more, especially around London and NY sessions.
Gold can look very bullish or bearish on higher timeframes, but on lower timeframes (like M1–M5), it often creates liquidity grabs before the actual move.
Personally, I’ve seen better consistency by:

I trade a much longer time horizon, but I see it the same way. I expect 2-way pre-FOMC volatility. And considering the deteriorating private credit market, a surprise rate cut and explosive move higher could be in the cards, no guarantee of course.

We each have to play it how we see it. I trade the turns but it's impossible calling out the exact tops and bottoms, it is however possible to identify a price level that would signal and confirm a trend change with reasonable accuracy.

Trade UpdateJust booked a +1.1% profit on Gold. The trend wasn’t strong enough, which is why I closed the trade early-but I’m happy with the return. Done for the day.
