actually, many here in ff, trades with hedge, but not many knows about hedging. thats the reason why i open this tread, to help new traders, overcome the Market.

brother, please if you have some ideas for bettter hedging, please contribute, as of now, this is my style and been doing this for many many years. Maybe some other trader has different style...

prepeartion,

I have only 2 things into my chart as indi nothing else, Volume Profile, for me to know where is support resistance, & session box, for me to know what each session is doing. thats all.

Routine,
we keep Buying and Selling at asia session, after 4 hours asia session open, we are fully hedge, before NY we have both position open for BUY and Sell, and allow NY to retrace all orders,

Routine, there is no routine actually, only look for 2 news actually, nfp and fomc, the rest is just noise.
Daily routine, we close the book dailly, so we can redo again the new range for next day.

PS we keep harvesting green only as much as possible, all red will be lessen on NIGHT time.

Thanks bro, is there some kind of reason for trading xauusd only and not other pairs?
Tried before hedging in demo on xauusd but account didn't make it. Not easy. Been thinking how to do this properly.

My advice, trade with only 1 instrument, in these way, you will know exactly what level and what time the price reverse in that instrument, you can do hedging with others, but only focus on 1. Humans are not robot, we grew tired, nd lost patience, so do trading only 1, for me Gold is the way, why it has momentum and volatility.

Many New Traders, lost Consistency in Trading, sometimes they would win on same setup, sometimes they will loose on same setup, hedging is not. hedging has consistency. if you Place BUY and Sell at same price at same time, you know for sure you have 1 positive and 1 negative. our goal is to get the positive, and lessen the negative. thats where consistency comes.

Every 30 minutes the pending orders are updated, which allows me to observe a sample of current market positioning. By looking at this data, I try to see whether the short-term trend aligns with what I’m seeing in the OANDA order book.
When the direction seems consistent, I open small positions in the direction of the trend. Instead of using a traditional stop loss, I place pending orders that can hedge or lock the position if the market moves against me.
Then I wait for the market structure to become clearer before repeating the cycle.
For this approach to work, patience, emotional control, and proper risk management are essential.

superb brother. so when you hedge you dont immediately put the BUY and Sell position, you trade the normal way, and instead of SL, you put pending orders on the opposite side. thats very good idea. people will see different side of trading style.
please keep posting us about the Oanda pending Orders, so we can use it in our hedging strategies.

how many pips is ideal to close a trade and open another hedge.

how much money or pips is up to you, but the bigger it takes, the better, why? it limit you to trade many position as you waiting for BIG Green, same as drawdown, you need to wait longer to go into your Drawdown.

I apply this approach across multiple currency pairs, which increases my opportunity set. While some pairs may become locked in opposite positions (hedged), others are already moving within the expected setup.
Because of that, the gross capital can grow quite quickly. However, the net capital tends to grow more slowly, since some positions remain temporarily locked. Even so, the account continues to grow steadily over time.

I know some people do hedging, and wants to be perfect at all trades, they wait as long as they can to make there RED to be Green, for me I only take Daily Profit and clear the book. Reset again the next day. dont want too much risk.

I also use moving averages to adjust my pending orders up or down as the market evolves. This helps me keep the orders aligned with the current trend and improves the overall efficiency of the strategy.
As you can see, I just applied the strategy on CADJPY. I closed my buy position in profit and placed a buy stop order. If the market goes down, I will move the order down using the moving average. If it goes up, the position will be locked again.

At the end of each month, I close all positions. I withdraw part of the profits and let the rest continue running with the same approach. The only downside is managing many open orders across different pairs, but I actually enjoy it
