I dont know when this graham interview you quoted is from, I just watched video from today and he said something totally different regarding the troops on the ground - but apparently the goal have changed, because regime change have been the main plan, including what you have alluded to, on multiple occasions.

My main point is not that tomorrow there will be boots on the ground, my main point is that the war is not going as they hoped, its not going as good as you or the press is alluding or the empires own words... clearly the Iranians are showing much more strength and resolve then being reported in the western press - beside some of the small leaks coming here and there regarding radar system and crashing jets.

The kurds got smoked during the unrest in January and Iraqi militia including the army have sealed the border now, with Iran on the other side ready, they are getting targeted by the empire along the border as we speak - because these kurds are mostly based in Iraq and their weapons comes from bases in Iraq, much more difficult to get weapons in Iran - but even if they managed to sneak couple of thousands in, they are lightly armed in unknown terrain - The Zagros mountains, which is the border area and stretches deep into Iran is very bad terrain, there are valley's stretching several hundred meters deep all over the place, the only roads are through official border crossings - Machine guns and couple of thousand kurds will not alter anything.

Another factor is Turkey, If Iran falls, there will be a connected Kurdistan from Syrian desert into Iran - Majority of kurds actually live in Turkey, over 30 million of them, Syria, Iraq and Iran have small portion of Kurds compared to Turkey, which means Turkey will be carved up - Turkey will NEVER accept that - it goes against their interests.

The Kurdish card is just not gonna work, because the whole region will be against it.

What we are left with is airstrikes and missiles getting fired back, once the air defense systems runs out, which is not far away, Iran will be able to fire freely.

Even today, I watched several videos from Bahrain and tel abib, air defenses are not even active like they were the first 48 hours, rockets and drones just falling down and nothing challenging them, so it seems they are preserving AD missiles for only important locations.

Which comes to my final conclusion, this is why I think they are considering and signaling ground troops, because the war is NOT going as planned and Iran is actually managing under current circumstances, surprisingly well - yes they are getting hit and infrastructure destroyed, but they are able to make it costly aka war of attrition, hence they wont stop the war.

Iran is the size of western Europe, it can tolerate a lot of damage, it have tens of thousands of missiles and drones.

- Iran mastered these suicide drones, everyone copied Iran's suicide drones due to low cost and effectiveness.

Now these drones and missiles are connected to the Chinese Beidou satellite system, meaning they can hit basically everywhere.

So far 5 hospitals, multiple schools, bridges while cars drive on them, apartment complexes, cultural centers, libraries, shopping malls, water systems, police stations, airports, hotels - just to name of the few civilians infrastructure that was targeted - which makes no difference on the government except killing civilians.

IRGC do not have weapon factories or bases in the city along civilians infrastructure, its hidden deep inside mountains and underground mega cities - The do have deployment bases close to urban centers - the Basij are close or inside urban centers, but they are volunteers and often not armed - probably under this war, they are armed.

Oil was coming down all day. This just helps avoid another spike overnight. The proof is in the pudding though: what is the strategy? It doesn't mean tankers pull anchor this afternoon....there will be a delay as details are worked out. But, it certainly led to a quick 3% down move in /cl (about 1% of which has already retraced).

Personally, I was hoping to see more of a move up in equities on the news. /nq broke to new cash market hour highs but is giving it back fast :-(
