The US has overwhelming air and sea power superiority over Iran, from the two carrier groups and bases in the region. All the chessmen are being moved into place and I expect the US to be issuing ultimatums soon. If the Iranians don't accede, I'd guess the US will attack Iran by air, to start, to neutralize its air force and ground based air defenses.

What comes after that, I guess we'll find out if it comes to that. I don't think the US is going to risk a ground invasion of Tehran, similar to what was done in Iraq. But there will have to be some kind of decapitation effort. Maybe, similar to Venezuela, there are already hidden assets in place in-country, waiting to assist. This kind of operation has probably been in the works for years....
