For anyone looking for a clean visual way to follow COT/CFTC data without downloading files or using MT4 indicators — I built a free web terminal that pulls the CFTC TFF Disaggregated report automatically every Friday at ~21:30 UTC, within about an hour of publication.
It shows net speculative positioning for all 8 major FX pairs as a bar chart with Long%, NET contracts, week-on-week change, NET%OI and a normalized COT Index — all in one row per currency. Clicking any row opens a full modal with Z-score, percentile ranking vs 52-week history, Long/Short split, LF vs Asset Manager vs Dealer breakdown, and a signal summary.
Looking at this week's data as an example of why context matters: CAD is at -60.9% NET%OI and NZD at -56.6% — both deep in extreme short territory. JPY is at -32.5% and still building. Those are meaningful positioning signals on their own. But the Risk Monitor on the same dashboard is currently showing RISK-ON (VIX 17.5, MOVE 65.7), with USD/JPY vs VIX flagged as "Unusual" — which changes how you read the JPY short significantly. A crowded spec short in a risk-on environment with an unusual VIX/JPY correlation is a very different setup than the same short in risk-off conditions.
That kind of cross-referencing is possible because the terminal isn't built around COT specifically — it's a unified FX terminal that brings together positioning, carry rankings, cross-asset risk, yield curve, central bank rates, retail sentiment, and FX session liquidity in one place. The COT panel is one module within a broader workflow, which is the point: you shouldn't need five separate tabs to build a macro bias.
