President Donald Trump declared Sunday night that he was the new “acting president of Venezuela” by sharing a doctored image of his online biography bearing the new title.

His alternate reality is sealed and the people around him are riding his collapse to get what they want – total destruction of the world order.

Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to share the image of himself that's featured in his biography on Wikipedia — edited to list him as Venezuela’s “acting president.” The declaration comes just over a week after his unprecedented U.S. attack on Venezuela.

Months after President Donald Trump suggested sending Americans a $2,000 tariff dividend check, many households are waiting to see if that stimulus could come in 2026, despite political and legal obstacles.

“We have taken in, and will soon be receiving, more than 600 Billion Dollars in Tariffs,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Monday.

Asked about tariff rebates this week, a White House official told CNBC that “President Trump’s tariffs are raising historic revenue for the federal government, and the Administration is committed to putting that money to good use for the American people.”

Still, the president’s $600 billion tally far exceeds other estimates. The Bipartisan Policy Center said that U.S. gross tariff revenue in 2025 was $289 billion.

According to the Customs and Border Protection agency, the U.S. collected roughly $200 billion in customs duties in 2025.

The White House may decide to issue so-called tariff dividend checks in 2026, but they won’t be fully financed by U.S. tariffs, and they won’t be dividends since Americans paid these tariffs in the first place,”

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.3 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis in December, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.

Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 2.7 percent before seasonal adjustment.

Stock futures are flat as traders look ahead to more bank earnings.

On Wednesday, investors can expect Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citigroup to report their quarterly earnings results before market open.

More inflation data is also on the docket, as December’s producer price index report will be released before the opening bell.

Trump’s Fed feud saga will see one major development happen next week in the Supreme Court.

A court case next week will likely be the next big development for the central bank in its quest to maintain political independence.

The Supreme Court will hear arguments on Jan. 21 related to President Donald Trump’s efforts to fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook. Trump tried to remove Cook from her position but thus far has been prevented by courts.

Should the White House win the case, it could set an important precedent for the president’s ongoing attempt to oust Fed Chair Jerome Powell.

The threat of criminal charges is the result of Trump’s long-standing frustration over the Fed’s refusal to cut interest rates as quickly and as much as he has demanded.

Toyota committed $4.2 billion to electrify and expand its Ontario plants, while Honda poured $3.8 billion into a massive new EV battery factory in Alliston.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford beamed as he welcomed “the jobs that were supposed to be American,” while laid-off U.S. autoworkers watched in stunned disbelief as billions flowed north. What was meant to force manufacturing back to the U.S. has instead accelerated a historic exodus, leaving Detroit reeling and Canada celebrating.

From Toyota to Subaru and Honda, Japan’s biggest auto brands are no longer betting on the U.S. as their safest base. They are shifting north, and Canada is emerging as the biggest winner.

With tariffs on Japanese cars and parts entering the U.S. reaching as high as 49 percent, manufacturers are facing billions in losses. Analysts estimate that Japanese automakers are losing nearly $25 billion a year from these trade barriers alone, with Toyota carrying a large share of the burden. Under these conditions, staying heavily invested in the U.S. has become a financial risk rather than a strategic advantage.
