Hi Folks,

The chart on the post above here pretty much sums up everything I have been trying to show for the past, well, mostly years.

Get a trade simulator that can run through the past day yesterday on USDJPY,
put up as many attractor horizontal line levels on a 15min chart you wish
and watch how (I believe) the market mechanics operate day in & day out

Who is drivng these mechanics bothers me little these days
Watch the sessions individually and what they do with price approaching the opens, during the opens, and post-opens as they work towards the next open ahead.

There was no clearer day, than yesterday on UJ, for this assessment on a Simulator (imho).

That is just how I view the mechanics
(same also on other pairs, indices, metals, crypto - believe it or not - that I can see in my studies)

So, that is just the Mechanics.
NOW

Trading it.
That I can't help you with (so much), as I am a discretionary trader, watching the charts play out & entering when I (think lol) I have an advantage/idea
(not always the case though hahaa).

HOWEVER

What I do believe,
Is that there are numerous threads among the 10,000 on FF that anybody could study for their excellent input value & implement FOR trading.
Then you could use the mechanics (above) and any horizontal levels that you deem might be viable for your own understanding
AND place them

UNDERNEATH
any system OR trading method you choose as most suitable for YOURSELF
and
hopefully
this might add one more string to your trading bow.

There is nothing NEW in what I have ever shown, but the levels do I believe incorporate trading interest areas of many & varied traders
Institutions, hedge funds, large players, retail players - who knows - while IF
they are showing interest there

then that is where there is a fair chance (imho) of when liquidity may likely increase or decrease during the day (new orders in, old orders out TP/SL) (bar NEWS)
and where the market may well move again, to a next level/station.


Wishing everyone well in this fun but tricky business in however you approach or trade it yourself.

Intraday Session Trading observations

The other day I had a major tooth extracted

The Dentist decided beforehand rather than to wiggle and yank on the whole tooth to extract it,
that he would section the tooth off and then remove it in stages, root by root.

A little similar to how we/I might trade our market sessions I guess.
Session by session.

Where is the hi-lo of the previous session as we embark on a new session
Is one of those (hi or low, or both) going to be a target in the next session.

If they do target it, and it is achieved, will they then reverse the direction to give the ‘next’ session players a reasonable or better entry price to “extract” profits from the next session.

And if price is going to go up (for example) will they drive price down first to achieve this,
all to entice traders in the opposite direction before resuming in the preferred direction
(and is maybe why some technical indicators get out of whack, for a period in the whipsaws, from that process – not all indis tho).
Just some food for thought

Either way I section off sessions (like the tooth hahaa) and treat the new session as an independent entity rather than a necessary continuation of the prior session.
(sometimes this plays true, while sometimes the following session is an ‘immediate’ continuation of the past one).
Each to their own of course
